Since I seem to have accidentally spawned a thread on this on tumblr - Stuff already posted in the interest of keeping the discussion clear. I now whine about how Gaia just removed basically all of the gold reward from my preferred method of stimulating my personal economy. (Seriously, Gaia, dropping 100K+ awards to 5k has not endeared you to me this day.) Discuss: Gaia being a clusterfuck, other websites that do it better, what have you. #everyone who follows seebs now knows I play Gaia Online #if I had any shame this would be embarrassing
I havn't been on gaia since they introduced the shop where you pay real life money for items and suddenly you had to pay real money for all of the cool looking items that were released. Yeah there were donation items since I joined waaaay back in the day, but they still released plenty of nice items into the normal shops as well. I guess it's for the best then since it seems like the gaia economy has transformed into something not unlike the Weimar Republic.
Did anyone else find it hilarious when they implemented a sales tax in the market? Mainly, did anyone else find the outrage hilarious? As the video noted, it does help to mitigate inflation a little bit, but it was still funny, both that it was done and the reactions to it.
I can online imagine what the rage was when they boosted it from two to five perccent during the time I was away from Gaia. [popcorn.gif]
But doesn't everybody love tax hikes? I haven't touched Gaia since 2012-ish, so I actually have no idea what's going on there currently. But it sounds great.
I got pretty rich in World of Warcraft at one point, in excess of half a million gold in the bank and about that again in auctionable goods, but I blew it all. But I had fun with it.
