i think we’re not acknowledging that chiomu was just triggered and projecting and we are all just kind of entering their triggered reality and extending the hypothetical that i am actually talking about bdsm when i am using words with a literal definition .

if you have or are currently participating in bdsm, maybe this is a sign you... should stop, because it’s triggering you

If most people who read a thing agree that it has a certain meaning, then that's what that piece of writing communicated. It doesn't really matter what the writer intended to say (except ethically, where we often treat a harmful mistake differently than deliberate harm). If you write something with zero sexual intentions and everyone who reads it says "wow, um, that's weirdly sexual", then you used your words wrong. Saying "that never happened" because that wasn't what you intended and then refusing to engage with anyone who tries to explain will get you exactly nowhere.

(Also, if you're regularly mentioning rape in a way nasty enough to get wiggled, you're going to have a credibility problem trying to claim that people are falsely accusing you of saying inappropriately sexual things in the posts that get through.)

Incredibly dismissive, incredibly off-target. You might want to stop making calls on when other people are totally triggered, because I don't think I've ever seen you do it correctly. You have been saying words that in common perception, to people who do and don't practice bdsm, have strong sexual connotations.

i will say if there were actually rules on this forum rather than having mods individually be rule-producers on the spot, on an individual basis, it might be easier for the mods to do their job.

no, they don’t have sexual connotations to people outside of the bdsm community.

I guarantee you that people would overwhelmingly find accusations of "putting their posts in diapers out of a sadistic desire for submission" uncomfortably sexual my dude

    This isn't how words... work.

eta: from a plain english and from a sociological perspective, this is not the way that language and communication function

this is out of my reality. it’s in your reality now, if you want to live with your lies go ahead but i’m not gonna be responsible for what you are creating. you create your reality. i stated what’s true. live in your own alternate universe with your fanfiction of me because i’m not a part of it. goodbye

People don't have to be in the bdsm community or personally interested in participating in bdsm to have picked up on the connotations. Speaking from experience here.

Like, irrespective of whether or not you're into kink, those words have taken up a common colloquial connotation that implies sexuality, especially when used in concert like that.

you're missing the point. No is saying you're into it.
One can sexually harass someone without meaning to.
It doesn't matter what you intended to say. Your words still hurt.

We're not acknowledging it because that is not what is happening.

Other mods are agreeing with Chiomi's reading of your words. That means it's not just her and she's "just triggered".

Wait until they find out how words get their meaning, because they're pretty much the best example in nature of people "creating reality"

people outside of the bdsm community are often able to acknowledge when words are associated with said community, especially in the implications of their use. even if its not what you intend, people are still allowed to point out the uncomfortable sexuality behind it.

man, I could have just... not written up that long post, because this communicates much more clearly than I could on my own that any sort of actual conversation about this is not. fucking. possible.

Fuck dude, TERF and co might laugh at me and my degree. I am trembling in my boots.

Like legit, this is just putting your fingers and going lalala, but in text version. I'd say that I could print out your posts and laugh at them with my professors, but it'd be a waste of their time.
