"... I'm sorry. I know. I know..." He'll just sit with him for a little while, until Martin seems to start calming down...
Martin... doesn't quite calm, but... he manages to stay coherent enough to give as much information as he can
It's mostly contact information, for tonight. But... They also want a swab of Martin's hands and clothes.
"... it's just routine. No one's suspecting you of anything, but ... this way there's no questions, later. So you won't have to worry." Sighing quietly. "Unless you've been in contact with something like gasoline, today?"
"Sure, that makes sense. I don't think you did anything wrong, Martin, I promise. It's just..." He sighs. "We have to be careful, in a case like this."
He swabs his hands, the cuffs and body of his shirt, the knees and cuffs of his pants. Quick and easy as he can. "I'm sorry. You... wanna talk about bartending?" "I used to be friends with a bouncer; he told a lot of stories about the guys he ran into."
Martin hesitates, then nods. "I mean. I mean. Most everybody's been. Really nice? I mean. Some of our customers used to suck, but, but the regulars are all nice."
"Uhm. Yeah, I mean. It's mine?" He hesitates, tugging at the sleeves of his sweater. "N...no, no school. I'm not good at it. I'm. Uhm. W...what's the word? I... own a few places?"
"... Landlord. Sounds like you're doing well for yourself without it, then. It's alright, don't worry..."
"... Huh. That's pretty nice. Wish I had a pension plan like that." He chuckles. "... It's pretty late, Martin. Do you want to stay here for a while, or head on home?"
"I... friends helped out. I do the people stuff an' keep stuff running. They helped make the money to buy stuff the first time." He stares at the smouldering remains of the apartment. "....I. I can. Is there anything that. I... I don't... think I can do anything, can I?"
"... Do you know anything that you think might help? Any... reason for this?" Sighing deeply. "... They ... They were saying that there were traces of... heh. Sorry. They think the fire might have been set on purpose."
He shakes his head. "I.... 's far as I know, aside from the folks who had him do work, I was one of th' only people he talked to."
