...Okay, so I haven't gone back and read HnK the manga from the beginning like I said I would yet. I got distracted by my desire to catch up to the current chapter as quickly as possible. I have now successfully done that, and, uh...wow. Like...holy shit.

I just want to say that, if you're reading Houseki no Kuni and you're worried, like I once was worried, that it's going to just keep piling mystery upon mystery on you without resolving any...don't be.

...But damn does this story wound me. I'm still reeling. Maybe I should pick up something lighter to watch/read as a counterbalance...

...Just as soon as I do that reading-the-manga-from-the-beginning thing. Then...then I'll start looking.

seriously though i'm so mad that this manga would do this to me WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO WITH...THIS EMOTIONAL PAIN???

EDIT: Okay, I've made Houseki no Kuni its own thread, because I wanted to write another post here and then I realized that if I kept doing that every single time I wanted to talk about something HnK-related I'd probably spam up this thread with it. So, uh. Pay me no mind.

For some reason I had the idea of tacking on PMMM: Rebellion-style movies to other magical girl franchises.

Futari Wa Pretty Cure the Movie Part III: Rebellion
CardCaptor Sakura the Movie Part III: Rebellion
Shugo Chara the Movie Part III: Rebellion

To be fair, I first had the idea in the context of Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha, which might actually be able to take it in place of the StrikerS movie.

[Edit] Actually, considering some of their other work, I wouldn't be terribly surprised if Clamp had a CCS: Rebellion arc buried somewhere in the vault.

I recently fell in love with Comic Girls, watched everything that was out, read everything that was translated and out, and am eagerly awaiting more episodes.
Then I inhaled all of Houseki no Kuni in one sitting.
Watched all of Stella no Mahou.
Now I'm halfway through SHIROBAKO and can i just say this series is Anxiety Incarnate.

Oh man, New Game! is so great. I should start watching the anime; I've only been reading the manga, but it looks like the anime has gotten pretty far through the material.

I should poke the manga sometime, since the anime was such a delight. :D I loved all the characters, and the story made me Feel An Emotion several times, and there is a very distinct "Harold, They're Lesbians" flavor to it that amuses me.

....I'm also super surprised that both girl-centric Game Making animes I've watched lately I enjoyed a good deal???? Tho NEW GAME! is a v different flavor and slightly better pacing than Stella no Mahou imho but I'd still rlly rec it as well bc it was Very Cute. c:

Is anyone watching Wotakoi? I wanna watch it, but I also don't wanna waste my time if it's like a lot of the office animes where it's nothing but sex jokes and the 'funny' thing is that haha, the women are sexy and always having wardrobe malfunctions!!

Mostly jokes about how adult nerds talk about nerdy things, haha, silly nerds, don't you know you're supposed to talk about normal things when you're an adult and not nerdy things.

Oh, that's totally doable for me - I make those jokes about myself all the time, so I don't think seeing someone else make them would upset me. Thank you!

I binge-watched future diary / mirai nikki these past few days, and loved the hell out of it! I went into it expecting something more low quality given what I'd heard of it from other people, and came out really pleasantly surprised by how solidly written and just generally enjoyable the majority of it was. it was just fast-paced fun that managed to keep tension through creative conflicts and strong development of the major characters, even if that had to come at the expense of all the super-interesting minor characters

I hated the ending, though, the particular writing of one major character, and had some various other complaints and gripes; I ended up writing a whole essay trying to articulate these and some other things, which can be read here if anyone's interested (beware, it's spoiler central). yuno was definitely the best character (tbh I initially got into the show just for her, and was definitely not disappointed on that front), and I'm adopting minene because she deserved better

overall I'd give the show about an 8/10, Would Recommend (With Caveats)

    mirai nikki is fun shit

though i don't recall ever finishing it sadly? i always kind of peter out part way through and i'm not sure why because as you said it's very fast paced. granted i have that issue with a lot of anime series.

recently rewatched "another", which is a very good supernatural-horror mystery anime with solid writing, beautiful visuals, a great creepy atmosphere, and bloody gruesome deaths. the last couple of episodes are a bit wonky writing-wise, and the show unfortunately suffers from the problem of hiding vital information for an important twist and thus making the twist seem stupid and out-of-nowhere, but imo those problems and some other nitpicks are easily ignored for the most part

it's not a good anime to watch if you're the type of person who gets easily annoyed by lack of communication since another pretty much runs on it, but another's also a good anime to watch if you want your characters acting as legitimate, real people, instead of the usual flat caricatures that fill anime

also the ending theme is incredibly beautiful

so, I'd definitely recommend this anime to anyone who likes a mystery with a side of supernatural horror and some gore on top! it's a short one, only 12 episodes plus an OVA, so you can kill it in half a day or so

I never did watch more than one episode of that on like an anime night with kuvo or some shit. I probably should? Was interesting looking and its short. It is also My Genre. That is to say the land of gore, nothing happening, people acting stupid, and questionable quality at best. Gods I love you horror.

That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime is fucking fantastic, I never thought I’d enjoy an isekai this much. Second episode and the main character has just gay married and then immediately vored a dragon.

  20. The Mutant

    The Mutant ' w '

I'm super into Dr. Stone these days '3' it has its flaws and starts a bit slow but damn once it hits it stride around chapters 12-13.... that story structure marked by advancements in science instead of typical shonen power-ups. the ART holy shit it's so good and distinctive. It's the only thing I'm following on a weekly basis besides One Piece these days, and fingers crossed its upcoming anime adaptation does it justice. I'm so picky and time-pressed that it's really easy for any flaw to be a dealbreaker for me even if I know the series is good overall (like BNHA) but I like this one enough that I'll overlook my primary niggles with it.

pls let me know if there's anyone else that likes it ;3; or if I can attempt to convert/convince u into reading it....
