My headphones are pretty much an essential in my life to decrease stress and avoid sensory overload, so I'm pretty stressed out about losing track of the detachable cord. I have Skullcandy Hesh 2 over-the-ear headphones, and both ends of the missing cord fit into the headphone jack on my iphone/computer/ect. I'd really, really appreciate any help locating a new cord, preferably one that's about 3 ft long.
Hmm. Radio Shack typically has cords like that, what you're looking for is a 1/8" TRS stereo plug, which is a Mostly Standard part. Although a lot of them will be "extension" cords which are typically more like 6'. If you can deal with ugly adapters and such, it's easier, otherwise... Hmm. I've seen cords like that sold separately. Computer supply places will typically use green plastic ends for those because that's the canonical color for the basic stereo port. (I mention the 1/8" and TRS because those are names that are sometimes used instead of more obvious names.) Oh, and 1/8" ~= 3.5mm, 2.5mm is a different size mostly used for phone headsets. Some computer speakers may or may not come with such a cord, and there's a non-zero chance of finding a cord like that at someplace like a grocery store or hardware store in with their selection of three or four cables. Target might also have them. But Radio Shack is your best bet if there's one available. (Actually, I may well have one of those, but shipping is slow.)
It should. It's got an extra conductor, which is used on some devices to support a microphone or a control button of some sort (like a pause button), so it should work for things like that too, but it should also be fine for the standard 3-conductor stuff.
