  1. What is the fastest rate at which I can safely lose body weight? Preferably fat.

As far as I’ve seen maximum healthy rate is generally 2 pounds per week. I’ve found it really hard to maintain that rate for more than a few weeks without my body seriously protesting with shakiness and crazy cravings though

Generally: make sure you consume adequate calories at appropriately spaced intervals, with an emphasis on vegetables and fruit, de-emphasis on carbs, and, if possible, a preference for less-processed food. Drink more water. Try to move more.

I usually use a calorie tracker to just keep me aware of a general ballpark of how many calories i'm consuming; i don't specifically measure or weigh, so i know it's only accurate within a few hundred calories, but that way it's not too many spoons but i still have to look at packagng and think about how much food the food i'm eating is. fruits and veggies help immensely.

i've used the site loseit? just cause it's the one i know cause a friend used to use it, others might know better ones. general official medical advice is to not go under 1200 calories as an absolute minimum or else your body might decide it's starving and it needs to save every ounce it can instead of burning it, or something like that.

I personally also weigh at the same time every day to sorta see how i'm trending, but this is generally not recommended because it can be discouraging; dehydration levels, water retention, and where you are in your menstrual cycle can all affect weight by a few pounds so sometimes you just appear to be two pounds heavier by a scale through no fault but the way your hormones are currently working.

Spent ten hours (6 Saturday, 4 Sunday) taking a class on Spanish rapier over the weekend. My legs really don't want to work today.

if you're weighing yourself, you should chart it, and look at the general trend of the graph. never judge the effectiveness of your process by too small a sample size, that way lies y0-yo dieting.

iii'm doin a couch to 5k thing!! got an app for it, basically 8 weeks of running slightly more every week until you're theoretically able to do a 5k jogging without stopping. i just started the second week today (first week was technically a week and a half because executive function only got me out to the gym twice in a week instead of three times, but, better than nothing, i only fail if i stop going at all) and so far it's like, challenging but not completely exhausting, and exercise is super good for my mental health so that's a huge bonus too.

honestly got the determination to start this because i wanna be fitter for going to didney worl in december with my family, which is a hilarious motivation but hey. gotta be buff for mickey. (or specifically, walking 7+ miles a day)

Pushed my weights up a bit more at the gym! Got it back into the "mild ouch" range.

    Dear Kintsugi

how do I figure out how to exercise regularly when my joints are a bag of dicks and any walking for more than 15 mins leaves me miserably stiff and like an eight/nine on the pain scale for the rest of the week

Also my ADHD hates indoor exercise because Boring (???) and doesn't want to do the thing unless it can look at new things all the time

    Plz to advice

-if actually going to see a physical therapist is an option, I'd rec it, I've had a lot of success with PT exercises
-if you can't, look up some physical therapy stretches and strengthening exercises online, youtube is FULL of them
-if all else fails try to find exercises for fibromyalgia, they're generally low impact and aimed at decreasing musculoskeletal pain
    -Thumpy Music
-if you can, get one of those blow up exercise balls! Just sitting on that and keeping your balance while you watch TV or game is exercise and you can work up to exercises with it as well
-a stepstool or large sturdy foam block can be useful to do aerobics like stepping up and down and things in front of the TV, if that set of motions isn't painful to you
-if you don't mind talking over the phone or voice chat, catching up with a friend can make doing exercise less boring

i also used to have a really hard time sticking with working out was because yeah, it's boring as hell. the entire reason i was able to get into weight lifting when most forms of exercise leave me cold is because it leaves my eyes free to watch stuff. also, i picked up a used exercise bike, and i rigged up a desk on the handlebars so i can put my keyboard and mouse there. i can play video games while i work out!! the boredom is Real, but finding forms of exercise that let me watch/do things was a total game changer.

If you work out 2-3 times a week, eat a calorie surplus with proteins and you do short sessions with heavy weights I’m sure you’ll get there in no time
the key here being consistency, it’s relaly just a skill you practise regularily

I have gotten in the good habit of going to the gym three times a week. And I managed to do that for 8 weeks, until I overslept on a Saturday and missed my personal training -_-.

But, I did go again this week and have been twice. Going again tomorrow. :)

Next week is going to be hard though, because of various other things I have to do in the evenings.
