Since it was talked about in the CDCF, KSBD gets a thread! Mostly because I want to gush about the current Aesma story. Anyway, comic synopsis: Allison's boyfriend gets kidnapped by Things from right in front of her. Allison then gets a glowing key stuck in her forehead and then is teleported to another world full of inhuman creatures. Now she has to find her boyfriend, get back home, and try not to get sucked into a multiversal power struggle. But that's only the surface. Featuring gorgeous art, rich worldbuilding, and plenty of flavortext. Even just reading the flavortext below the comic is super rewarding; that's where you find, for instance, the excerpts from Meti's Sword Manual that the CDCF so enjoyed. It started as a fan adventure on MSPA, but has since migrated to its own place. Will soon have a dead tree version of the first 90-odd pages. Spoiler Aesma is the perfect combination of petty, stupid, and overpowered, and those monks totally didn't help at all. If only they knew what they unleashed.
I might have a crush on Mottom. <.< I absolutely love the mythology and the stories associated with the comic- everything is so well thought out and so intricately crafted, it's amazing. The author has a tumblr where they answer questions and has stated recently that nothing has been 100% off the top of their head- they've at least had base ideas for everything answered so far. That's pretty incredible!
Anyway, there are actually two title drops, a few pages apart from each other. Do I use the one spoken to Allison, or the one spoken to the Demiurges?
Oh hey! this has a thread now. Awesome. Latest page (WON-5-95) commentary: I like Allison's look in in the last panel: It's a conversation all by itself. "Am I really going to do this?" "Yes, I'm really going to do this."
Between the slapping and that expression in the last panel, this page strikes me as very Utena. And we're in a sky castle. Cue up the Zettai Unmei Mokushiroku, I guess?
this is one of my fav webcomics ever, tbh. the character designs are like sweet, sweet candy for my brain (especially all the angels, idk why. they just make me stop & look at the pages for a very long time). i'm super pumped to hear about the print edition coming out sometime soon!
So Aesma and the Red Eyed King finished up, and... WHAT A THING OF BEAUTY. I love you, Aesma. Maybe don't kiss me but keep being perfect, okay?
So I'm totally get into this, so... have a softer world edit, massive spoilers for latest chapter. Like, the most recent few pages. Might make more than one later! Spoiler: A Softer Wheel And you'll feed bad because you could've.
A Softer Wheel, White Chain version. Spoiler: A Softer Wheel In Heaven, everything is fine? Ugh. It's been 48 hours. My heart is almost certainly dead already.
@Wiwaxia Spoiler: White Chain and Liminal Blossom I'm really, really sad they didn't have a chance to sit down and talk and get to know each other. I don't ship them exactly, they haven't interacted directly enough so it'd just be me going 'oh they're both trans, so kiss!', but I wanted them to have the chance to know each other, I guess. Like, White Chain is so desperate for acceptance from the other angels who all dismiss her identity, so I think seeing Liminal Blossom's soul-form was so important to her?
Somewhat sideways of the actual happenings, I love that the term "king" is explicitly non-gendered. Zoss is perfectly happy to say "she" and "king" and refer to the same person. Spoiler Al-YISUN has chosen to become king.
