Okay how long should I wait after getting my wisdom teeth out before I can drink/smoke pot

I don’t wanna ask my dad bc he’d be pissed

72 hours is the ideal waiting time for smoking directly after wisdom tooth surgery, though most dentists would prefer you wait until you were well-healed to avoid dislodging the clot. Drinking (alcohol) is 24 hours at least, 72 hours ideal, at least a week by dentist preference.

Basically you're on No Fun Patrol for the next couple days, possibly longer if you don't clot properly or have pain issues.

It's super not worth chancing it too early, either. You really, really don't want an infection or dry socket.

Having had an extremely nasty infection post wisdom tooth surgery partially because I thought I was totally healed after a week and went out and drank because it was my birthday, I'd like to third all of this. Smoking especially dislodges the healing tissue and is likely to give you dry socket.

On the other hand, I was so zonked on pain meds for the first three days after the surgery that I basically don't remember existing at that time, so you probably won't miss it too much.

also don't eat anything with little hard bits like seeds or cracked pepper nuggets, bc getting one of those stuck in the socket is MISERY. if i could've told myself this a week ago my life would be nicer now.

a bump for a really late update on the wisdom teeth: the holes are almost completely closed for the two they had to pull. rarely anything gets stuck in them now, and if it does it's the bottom one

(two were surgically removed & stitched up and two were pulled)
