So today I mailed my college professor who's supervising my teaching internship because there's a chance that the school will go on strike, which means I won't be able to teach. His reply was "If all teachers join the strike, you won't be able to continue, but right now just focus on teaching normally". I asked him the big question: what happens to my grades if this happens, since it's out of my control and doesn't reflect my ability or willingness to teach? His reply: "That varies on a case by case basis. In the past, students managed to resume their internship and were approved. But let's not worry about that ahead of time, alright?"

DON'T WORRY ABOUT HAVING A SEMESTER OF STRESS TOSSED AWAY FOR SOMETHING OUT OF YOUR CONTROL THAT MAY HAPPEN. DON'T TRY TO PREPARE OR UNDERSTAND YOUR SITUATION. ACT AS THOUGH NOTHING IS HAPPENING.

    I'm now very anxious ):

Ech, stressful. Hopefully he meant "it's highly likely you'll be able to resume your internship without a problem, but possible that there'll be drama and you'll have to kick up a fuss. But there's no use in worrying until you find out if you have reason to"?

I think so, yes, but he still could've been a little less dismissive, especially because I said in my email that I've had trouble with a school going on strike in the middle of my internship last year and it was a mess (and part of the reason it was a mess was because my professor at the time gave me contradictory and vague instructions on how to handle the problem).

Oh yeah, def. And either way, I imagine it still doesn't help the anxiety of just having to sit and wait and see if something is going to cause a problem.
