I know we have a lot of people here on the forums who love this book, and i am currently caught up in a wave of fandom limerence. Please come nerd out with me, desperately trawling ten tear old livejournal threads only gets you so far.

I really adore just how charming all the characters are. Its a strong point of terry pratchett, i think--not that he always builds strong or necessarily well executed characters but they always have a certain charm that makes you want to like them anyway. Adam is beautifully complex, as you'd expect, but i mean. The friggin postman cracks me up every time too. And pigbog and the bikers? Mary loquacious? Its just fun.

Also wow i ship aziraphale and crowley like burning. This last read through, when i finally bothered to look up the nightingale singing thing and realized that no, the authors werent just queerbaiting this whole time, i was SO HAPPY. I fucking hate queerbating you guys. So much. You dont even know. (Fuck you spn)

I uh. Could also be persuaded to ship Pepper/War spades a few years in the future. Though thats even harder to find.

What do you like? Who's your favorite character(s)? What's your favorite part of the book? Is there fic/fanart you particularly like?

Man, I haven't read that book in... a long damn time, but you've inspired me to do a readthrough soon so I can come have conversations about it. (It's a fantastic book, I just don't get around to re-reading things as often as I should.)

I love Good Omens! It's one of my favorite books, and thinking about it now I actually haven't read it in a few years... but if I remember correctly, my roommate has a copy, so I may reread it soon. Crowley and Aziraphale are my faves.

I LOVE that book. it's one of those that really makes me all writing style-jealous.

I love Good Omens. My copy is back in my dorm now, I think, but it might be time for a reread.

Though it is a bit weird to compare Disc Death and GO Death...

Also yeah Crowley/Aziraphale, what a wonderful ship.

There's a bit in...reaper man, maybe? Where it talks about there being different Deaths, but sort of... All related, or kind of different aspects of each other. I'll have to go look and see if i can find it, but i think they maybe started off pretty much the same but then go!death spent thousands of years with War and Pestilence and Famine, while discworld!death got to hang out with like...vimes. Is interesting as a character development question anyway.

If memory serves, GO Death is called Azrael, which is the name of the Death of Universes.

i think they put it into later editions, it's a bit where they talk about writing the book together, copies they signed etc. they do mention copies 'dropped in the bath and repaired three times with tape, or constituting entirely of loose pages in a zip-loc bag'

ahh i've only read the book once but it's so good! i really loved the humour in it and the bikers trying to be horsemen were my favourite bit! that one guy who changes his name to cruelty to animals and grievous bodily harm and cool people... peak funny.
    (crowley/aziraphale for life, my dudes.)
anyone going to watch the TV series that's coming out soon? (i wont, i dont have amazon prime, but david tennant looks good in it <u<)

If you look at the notes on this post, you can see all sorts of people weighing in on their experiences with the Good Omens Curse. :::PPP (Including me, whose original copy was peed on by a Boston Terrier and subsequently replaced with an inferior copy that didn't have the illustrations.)

If I remember right, Pratchett took names from witch hunts for some of the Discworld witches too. I think "Garlick" was one?
