Finding Daytime Friends

Discussion in 'General Advice' started by SorelyLackingSnifters, Sep 14, 2019.

  1. Kia ora! I've temporarily moved to America to intern at NASA, and I've been really struggling with the social culture here in California. People wake up late, stay up late, drink like it's their first year of uni and spend any time they're not drinking working. I've never been a person who's into late night drunken parties, and I've been really missing my friends back home who enjoy things like visiting malls and museums and coffee shops. Any tips on how to find diurnal friends?

I´m not a diurnal person myself, but if you have time/money maybe a daytime or at least afternoon hobby class?

I have heard good things about MeetUp. It's a site where people organise group outings around a thing people have in common like a hobby. A place like California is bound to have lots of groups that organise stuff on the website.
