God, I'd forgotten that most of them are a Problem - yeah, any single use product tends to suck for the environment. I get compostable wipes - I'm using Yes To, but Burt's Bees and several other companies also do them - so they have lower impact, in part because it's easy if I'm running low on spoons as I usually am at the end of the day and in part because I've really hated most of the oil cleansers I've tried. I have some makeup remover I like that's a standalone oil-based product, but I also hate the added laundry of reusable rounds.

I had no idea, thanks for the info! What oil cleansers would you recommend, if I might ask?

I really like Fake Bake's Skin D Luxe Cleansing Melt - apply like a moisturiser, massage, and then add water to make it a cleansing milk which you can rinse off.

This is probs gonna be long as hell and tell me if I should make a separate post plz

In the early 2000-2010s I was a pretty good and enthusiastic FMV maker, usually sticking to anime and a few games, but I got good enough to even win one or two local comptetions at minor cons and I've still got at least a dozen vids on my YouTube channel that really show my progress from having no idea what I was doing to actually not being awful.

About seven years ago, a combination of total creative burn out, some really weird bad luck and some really awful health probelms caused me to put away Sony Vegas and close my laptop for what I thought was for good. I'd always only made for my own entertainment and it just wasn't fun any more.

But about a year ago, I don't know why, I actually started editing again - I felt inspired, and have made a few little betas and small clips that I actually liked enough to keep going. I've now made enough headway on a project that I'm considering uploading to my channel again, which is where my question comes in.

My channel is a mess. It was never the tidiest to begin with, but after close to a decade of using it only as a repository for my personal playlists and favourites of all categories, as well as the place to accidentally upload the odd pet video when I forgot I already had an extra channel for that, my options are -

    A) delete all my old vids, reupload what I still have on file elsewhere and just keep my YouTube for random crap

    B) delete the pet videos and just go on with the confusing mess I have, hopefully pleasantly surprising my like three subscribers who likely haven't unsubscibed purely because they forgot about me

Or C) delete the pet videos from my beta channel, the MVs from my main, and switch them. ScreamingButtweed will be a MV channel and BastLoki can be my lolloping goliath of a personal account.

I could literally do either of these, but it's all so overwhelming, lol. Any advice would be appreciated.

personally I’d say don’t delete things, never delete things, even if you plan to reupload you’d lose the comment and viewing history and the video would be gone from any playlists anyone added it to

if it were me I’d just upload duplicates of the main channel worthy vids to the main channel and/or make a playlist of everything you consider good.

If you want, you can make the pet videos Unlisted and make your playlists private.

my sibling was just informed that they can't keep seeing their therapist across state lines (they moved out of state a couple months ago) because of insurance reasons. has anyone ever heard of this happening? is there a way around it?

they just started grad school and are living in a house with a bunch of other people in Boston, and both of those are good things but it would still be Not a good time for them to lose their therapist

Did they change insurance plans when they moved states? Honestly, even if not, that's pretty consistent with how insurance companies work. Not sure there would be much to do? Try calling the therapist office to see if they have suggestions, but. uh. on the bright side Boston has lots of good mental health services, many of them low cost, and they may be able to access some through their school?

damn. well, thanks for the info. they’re meeting informally with their therapist later this week so hopefully they can at least work out a referral or something.

    maybe simple computer question?

My PC (windows 10) keeps un-sleeping itself >W< whenever I'm done with it, I tell it to sleep, which it does- then, sometimes as soon as five minutes later, it'll wake back up despite me not touching it. Other times, I'll sleep it for the night, go into my other room for bed, come back the next morning and find it awake again which is highly concerning cause I have the power settings so that it should be sleeping automatically when it's been idle for a pretty short amount of time, so either it's not doing that or it's been unsleeping itself less than 10 minutes before I come into the room in the morning???

Mine does the same. I think it unsleeps itself when it updates or does a backup and then doesn’t return to sleep, but I’ve not really got any proof of that.

i've found that some mice, like my wireless mouse, give near-constant slight feedback which wakes the computer from sleep - does your mouse have an off switch?

Ooh, that's a thought- I do have a wireless mouse. It does have a switch, so I'll try that for a day or two (assuming I remember) and see if that helps. o3o

Alas, that wasn't it :( I turned the mouse off last night when I told my computer to sleep but it was awake AGAIN this morning

Hey, I ran out of Prozac on Tuesday and I am Mcfuckin Dying. I was sure that my refills would finally go through today but they didn't. My psychiatrist has always been impossible to get in touch with, and the pandemic hasn't helped.

My question is: I remember at some point in the past, when I was also out of a medication, and the person at the pharmacy took pity on me and somehow prescribed me like...two days worth of pills to tide me over until the refill went through. Does anyone know how to make that happen? Like, is there a way to tell if you're qualified for that kind of thing, or is there a way to ask for it? The pharmacy person brought it up on their own last time.

I would suggest calling the pharmacy and explaining your situation, there's not a guarantee that they'll be able to do it but a lot of the time they will!

Iirc that's usually from a free sample from the pharmaceutical company itself, they come in small doses that they can use as a gap filler or a doctor can let you try to see if it works. It's kind of a crap shoot sometimes but it's definitely worth asking about!

@Alexand I have been able to just pay out of pocket for a couple pills when I have forgotten my meds while travelling, and the non-insurance cost for prozac was pretty low iirc. I'm not sure if it's a different case if your prescription has technically lapsed though

depending on where you are, you should be able to just talk to the pharmacist abt your situation and get an 'emergency refill' for a few days/week's worth of pills

Dunno if this goes here, but I'm kinda tempted to set up a pokemon advice thread in the RP section like some of the professor blogs I see in tumblr. Would anyone be interested if I did?
