Are there any modpacks out there that add lots of pretty fun things, like new trees and plants and animals and stuff, but don't add things that make the gameplay more complicated or difficult?

I'm very new to the game and don't much like the fighty aspects, and I tried playing FTB continuum, but all the EFab stuff was too confusing and difficult for me to have fun with. (Seriously, making tools that don't IMMEDIATELY break should not take any more than 10 minutes of active resource gathering)

Any modpack that has the beehives would be greatly preferred!

    Thanks in advance!

EDIT: Or would I be better off finding specific mods and just installing those individually?

I dunno if they're good or quite what you're looking for, but on twitch there are four "vanilla plus" modpacks that might be worth a try. And you can also add mods to an existing modpack in twitch by putting the jar of what you want in the modpack's directory (and if that sentence was utter gibberish to you, i am happy to explain further), so you could add bees to whatever if they dont already have it.

this also looks like maybe a useful resource for you? https://www.reddit.com/r/feedthebeast/comments/8xnl67/vanilla_plus_mod_suggestions/

but yeah, it looks like "vanilla plus" is probably the search term you want.

twitch also has a couple packs that focus on bees, but idk if they add too much other stuff too. but anything that's not an expert/hardcore/questing pack prob won't force you to do the complicated stuff, so you could just ignore the stuff you aren't interested in.

Minecraft Regrowth is pretty good-it has questing, but you can play in peaceful quite well with the only issue that I know of being one singular optional quest that requires you to Kill An Enderman, which can easily be done by cheating in an enderman spawn egg-they're 3 blocks tall so just stand under a roof of like, cobble or something, with only 2 blocks clearance and the only risk is the possibility of your spawned-in enderman deciding to leave.

It's a pack where a magical apocalypse occured and now the world is mostly a barren wasteland and you need to acquire the tools etc to fix it. Early-game tools are flint and wood, but last a decent amount of time and can be repaired with a single piece of flint.

Read the quest book and NEI a lot; recipes are changed very often, eg mana spreaders now require no gold and in fact gold is gated behind mana spreaders!

Bees are present, as is fishbreeding! Your breath meter will at first deplete really fast underwater but there's an early quest to make a snorkel which changes that. Then once you get a little into the resources quests you can make a Ring of Chordata and never need to worry about your breath meter again.

Actually "X is scarce/nonexistent at first, then you make Y and have infinite X" is basically how Regrowth goes. You grow most of your resources!

Pathfinder is another one with no required fighting-in fact it's designed for Peaceful mode entirely.

I personally found regrowth pretty complicated and needed handholding from a friend who had played it extensively.

The quest book helps but I remember being frustrated when I was throwing broken tools away and they never despawned because I didn't manage to see/oarse information on how to repair.

No place near the level of complicated of ftb though.

you just, put the tool in the 2x2 crafting grid with one of the repair material

and yeah tinker's tools neither despawn nor burn in lava on purpose

reply, just kinda hiding away my own issues with pack a bit. milage may vary

I did get told how to do it after voicing my annoyance to friend and we were playing coop so I wasn't stuck for long. I don't think I had ever really used even vanilla Minecraft in grid repairing and even so that is item x item rather than item x material.

These things often seem like second nature and real obvious when you are used to how it works but unless I get a tutorial on how a thing works or clearly shown a recipe I will not know how the thing works.

I done some searching now and I haven't seen anyone else having the same problem as me. I was possibly particularly dumb in getting stuck on it.
