You could ask a mod to move stuff to one of the private forums, if you're worried

Well, I've seen plenty of people get doxxed when they weren't particularly famous.

I just drank a can of hard cider with a best by date of August last year.

    Am I gonna die?

hard cidre being the alcoholic kind, right?

Generally i'd say a closed can of alcohol is pretty shelf-stable even a good while after the official best-by.

Yeah, I think you're gonna be fine. Possibly queasy, but ultimately fine. If you do start to feel ill call the doc, but I don't think you'll need to.

Thirded. Alcohol has a very long shelf life if kept sealed, so chances are you’ll be totally fine. I wouldn’t even expect much in terms of an upset tummy, honestly, although it is possible.

I made a typo in the title when trying to make a YouTube side-account and I can't figure out how to change it. Does anyone know?

So I was really moody this morning, and wound up crying quite a bit. Between this and general allergy season bullshit, the skin around my eyes is super irritated and burns like a mofo. Does anyone have tips on how to alleviate this, ideally with stuff one would likely already have in one's home?

I've been told that when eyes get irritated, to wet camomile tea bags and put them on one's eyes. Don't know if it will actually help, it's like, half remembered old home remedies.

A lot of eye remedies like the teabags (and cucumber slices!) are basically a cold compress, which you can do with cotton pads and cooled water as well to reduce any swelling and soften any dried-on tear residue. Other than that just clean the affected area really well with plain water, dry thoroughly by patting gently with a soft cloth, and try to avoid touching to avoid irritation. Skin around the eyes is thin and really easy to damage, so I'd avoid anything like creams etc which might irritate further.

Thanks, that’s really helpful! The irritation died down a good bit overnight but if they decide to bug me again, now I know. :)

I feel like I should make more comments here supporting/helping people and suggesting useful things, but the things people tend to need help with are things I don't know either. I suppose the obvious option is to learn more things. Not sure where to start.

Anyone have experience with trying to find an apartment or house to rent with pets? I’ve been trying to find somewhere to move but every place I’ve looked has a limit of 2 cats. We have 3 and gf is terrified that if we lie and say we have 2 we’ll be kicked out as soon as there’s an inspection or a maintenance guy discovers the third.

Anyone have suggestions cause I’m running out of ideas? Are places willing to work with you on that if you pay an extra deposit or is it usually set in stone?

Not sure how it is where you are, but I'd try asking the landlord up front if they're flexible. The rental terms of my new flat specified no pets, but I explained that I have a cat and three snails before applying and they accepted me without much question on a standard deposit.

I’ll give it a try. I’m kinda looking in two different states at the same time so I’ll just have to call. So far only one got back to me saying they only accept dogs.

I’ve joked that I need to attach a picture of Muffin to my applications because she just has this sweet adorable face you can’t say no to. Just look in the reveal your pets to me channel for an example.

If one or more of the cats are quiet and docile, or aren't stressed by carrier trips, cats are fairly easy to hide either by closing them in a room not getting maint'ed or bringing them on a Car Trip Elsewhere. (or, if your cats are easily spooked, they may hide themselves when strangers are about and solve the problem for you.)

Tell them you happen to be sitting for someone else's cat if they show up for a surprise inspection and have someone else cat-sit during prior-warned ones?

honestly that seems like kind of a big risk--you'd be breaking the terms of your lease and could risk eviction. that depends a lot on the individual landlord though, of course.

i agree about asking the landlord if they're flexible. it's possible they might allow it if you agree to pay an extra 'pet rent' each month. that's how my building works--you can have pets, but you have to pay like $100 extra per animal per month. (but i don't have any pets so i don't know the specifics of how the agreement works.)

True, it would. My sister knows someone who's got away with it with a dog so far, but yeah, risky. My dad is currently assembling a package of info on why my landlords ought to let me have ferrets, I'll ask him what he's found and see if there's anything useful there.

That’s what scares my gf so bad is the idea of getting caught and then we’re up a creek without a paddle.

Meanwhile I’m over here knowing that Peach runs away from everyone and Muffin is such a good hider we thought she had actually gotten out of the house one day.
