Tattoo Help Needed: Pretty Ampersands? (self-harm/abuse cw)

So I've been wanting a tattoo to cover up a scar on my leg for years. It's a scar from a pact of sorts I made with my abuser, where we carved hearts into our skin. (Hers did not scar. I feel like that's cosmically significant somehow, in a weird way. But I digress.)

Anyway, I've decided that I want to cover it up with a tattoo of an ampersand (this thing: &), because of an Amanda Palmer song called, well, Ampersand. See, my abuser and I were kind of a package deal at the time (Laura AND Anna, Anna AND Laura), and the first line of the chorus to that song--"I'm not gonna live my life on one side of an ampersand"--really resonates with me, and has for some time.

The problem? I'm not sure what style of ampersand I wanna use. I want it to be something pretty, and I want it to cover up the scar (which, for reference, is about the size of a quarter, and about...I'd guess maybe 2/3 inches below my knee?), so I'd like something with thick lines, or at least thick portions.

So...does anyone have any pretty pictures of ampersands, or know of any fonts that have really nice ones? It's not an urgent thing at all--I don't have the money for a tattoo at the moment--but I'd like to have it worked out well in advance.

    Thanks! <3

I'm thinking something...fuck, idk how to explain what I'm looking for. Kind of...bubbly thick cursive, I guess?

...Actually, this TMBG logo is pretty close to the style I'm thinkin' of:

I'd like for it to be kind of the standard ampersand shape (&, as opposed to the other shapes I've seen in various fonts/handwriting) but in that general style?

And thank you so much for the offer! It can wait until I get closer to being able to afford it, of course, and I'll absolutely pay you for it when it gets to be time to design it!

One thing that might also work would be browsing through various font libraries? There's heaps of stuff online that should have an ampersand built into the font, and there's some pretty cool designs out there. It might be worth checking out a bunch and finding a handful of styles you like that'd be good for an artist to work off for the final design
