Okay so technically I’ve been here the whole time, but I’ve been pretty lurk-heavy beyond my own little caves in the Blogette and the genderzone and like.....I do not wish to remain in my shadowy corner! I wish to emerge! I wish to say....hi? and reintroduce myself I guess because it’s been a While. Hi! I’m Socket (or Joey, if you like, I’m trying a thing) - they/them, arguably a person but equally likely to be a bundle of special interests and hyperfixations in a trenchcoat, definitely friendly and always here to be a rapt audience to any stories of tabletop adventure you have. (D&D and tabletop in general occupies most of the trenchcoat interior.) I actually really like talking to people, I’m just very shy of initiating and still learning how to ask the questions that’ll prompt folks to talk about the things they’d like to talk about! Conversation is tricky until it turns to mutual infodumping, which rules. When I’m not trying to carve out a niche as a freelance illustrator alongside my job as a professional retail NPC, I’m running a Curse of Strahd campaign for my close friends and playing in a couple of other 5e campaigns, playing viddygames (currently Pokemon SoulSilver again, a little Breath of the Wild, and the BG3 early access) and reading an awful lot of Pratchett to stave off the agony of having to wait for the next Locked Tomb book. I’ve recently re-accepted that I’m autistic (diagnosed as a kid, had a weird denial phase, exited that during the process of my partner seeking her own diagnosis, it’s a whole adventure), also have big inattentive ADHD, and after much work I’ve decided both of those things are (for the most part) extremely rad actually and now I’m trying out the world from the angle of not trying to not be those things. :p so yeah! Hi! Here I am again, you may see me around, trying to join in because there are a lot of really lovely folks here and I miss being active a lot!
