By 'over many lifetimes' it's meant that, literally, Zero has done this song and dance in her world over many separate and individual lifetimes. Not in the form of rebirth but in the form of repeating time cycles. Each time Kaguya fails to bring back Fiethsing and almost destroys the world instead, Alhama'at goes back and attempts to kill her which results in the very problem that leads to Kaguya attempting to fix things. Zero is one of the few characters aware of this cycle and it's part of why she's as hopeless and depressed as she is typically. She isn't consciously aware of all the details but like Gill she suffers deja vu a lot.

Zero has never once seen a good ending. Of course she'd say that this world seems constantly beset by a cycle of misery.

headcanon: so sopor slime just got confirmed as canonically dangerous and Bad For Trolls, but mandated anyway

as well as the other stuff i headcanon it to do+the stuff that got canonically confirmed recently, it also makes trolls unable to produce healthy eggs internally, forcing them to use a mothergrub for all reproduction

unsure if trolls would naturally use mothergrub+producing their own eggs to reproduce, or if the mothergrub was created by the condense to allow her greater control over her species

Where'd it get confirmed as dangerous?

Not sure if this one qualifies as that horrifying (well...beyond the general horror that comes with Pearls in general, so probably still kinda horrifying when you think about it), but here goes: instead of having facet-cut designations like other Gems (e.g. Peridot Facet 2F5L Cut 5XG, Amethyst Facet 5 Cut 8XM), Pearls have serial numbers, closer in format to, well, IRL serial numbers. Unlike facet-cut designations, these serial numbers are nearly never used and usually forgotten very quickly by everyone except the Pearl in question.

...Which I guess means Pearls don't have anything truly resembling names, so that counts as pretty horrifying actually. :P

Lanque and his friends haven't yet found out that the regime will be perfectly fine with his gender identity on the condition that he do what all male jades do, i.e. undergo torturous hormonal and cybernetic treatments to become a Drone.

Tumblr's deliverusfromsburb provides some worrying thoughts on the sprite-squareds:

Steamworld related stuff: Vectron sprites are actually their own species. Unlike voltbots, they're telepathic separate from the internet-connection-type telepathy and do not actually need a network connection to connect to the hivemind.

Their life cycle includes spending quite a long time as the made of light and magic and soul 'fenlight' form. At adolescence they gain the ability to freely enter and use bodies (not ones already having a soul though-empty ones), as well as exiting freely. This stage lasts a few decades-maybe 50 years?-naturally, although they finish maturing after about a decade of this. After that stage is complete they start finding it harder to exit bodies they're in, and they pick a body (or well Vectron picks it for them but really without Vectron they'd pick or build a body) and fuse with it and begin to age in a similar way to a voltbot or a steambot. Vectron keeps most sprites on fusion suppressants once they start to reach this stage, so they remain unaging and able to swap in and out of bodies whenever Vectron wants them to.

They don't really have many ways to defend themselves in their 'fenlight' form-there is getting Big and having a Nightmare Face and Yelling and Bashing Into Things and Pretending To Be Fire (more than usual) but aside from that there's just-exploding to protect the rest, or because Vectron wants them to.

Fen gets stuck, first in the totem and then in the teleporter, because their fusion suppressants wore off a while ago but they do not want to fuse with a body like that, so they're just...stuck and trying not to accidentally fuse with whatever they've gotten stuck in.

Incidentally they're not all made on a production line like voltbots-they're harder for Vectron to create, but it did make them able to and breeds them kinda like livestock, supplemented by ones Vectron actually creates (usually to try to add a trait to the gene pool...this doesn't always work). Usually they're kept...'fixed'...along with having their normal face removed, although they do heal completely on their own so Vectron redoes it every few months or so. The face removed thing is actually why all those sprites in the Vectron section, the ones that roar at you and explode or roar at you possess a monitor that is presumably slated for demolition anyway and then explode, have a dark center.

(Fen has a long, long list of reasons to want to stay far, far away from Vectron. The only one they're comfortable with saying out loud is the 'not having a will of your own' thing.)

When Zebruh Codakk says his life is in danger for trying to be nice to lowbloods, no matter how utterly he fails at it, he's right.

I'm very fond of the old fanon that the Amporas have mutated nonfunctional gills, and that in several timelines they died by drowning.

Ori and the Blind Forest headcanon: light spirits need either food or light from spirit or ancestral trees to survive. Usually.

Occaisonally though you get one that can eat straight spirit light, left behind by creatures of the twisted Dark as well as by some light spirits, but not by creatures of the benign Dark. This also allows them to absorb far more light from an ancestral tree than normal at once, even gaining abilities from it. It can take up to a year for the ancestral tree drained like this to recover.

There's a reason the Spirit Tree specifically saved Ori. No other spirit would be able to drain enough light from the Spirit Tree to gain Soul Link.

Whether it's horrifying or not depends on what it turns out to be, but it seems pretty clear that Elwurd is hiding something big, and not just her full name. Theories include her being a Tetrarch of the rebellion (a la Dammek, whose name has also only partly been revealed) or her having been in contact with humans before.

Horrifying thought about Zebruh; his sign is that of the Penitent. But Penitent for what? By Alternia’s standards, the thing he is doing wrong is trying to help lowbloods in the first place, however shittily he’s doing so. What if he “repents” for that, starts actively trying to abuse them, and becomes even worse than he is already?

I think Cronus' behaviour towards Mituna is multi-faceted, albeit not in a way which makes him much less of a douche. On one hand he wants an easy target to take out his frustration on, but I don't think he's outright evil enough to genuinely wish brain damage on people. Relatedly, I'm pretty sure the death threats he made to Mituna had about as much actual intention of murder behind them as your average internet douchebag's, but that doesn't make them okay because he was going for the most hurtful thing he could possibly think of to say. I also theorise that Mituna used to snark back at him with just as much vigour and with a lot more wit than he's capable of now, and subconsciously or not Cronus is hoping that if he angers Mituna enough he might get the old Mituna back, even if just for a moment. Obviously it doesn't work that way, but in stasis in the dreambubbles, the dead players are all incapable of learning or moving on and have been having the same fights and problems they did just before their death over and over and over again forever, not that Cronus would have given up easily on any stupid idea he got into his head before that either.

Oh no. I just found out Vikare is the Etruscan name for Icarus, and it's quite plausible that at some point he will encounter the Soleils, who are members of a lowblood-murdering cult and whose name refers to the sun... Oh no, plane-bby :(

    (ETA: Etruscan, not Latin.)

that seems even harder than just keeping an eye out for lime-colored grubs in the caverns... you'd need to go out and systematically blood-test all the lusii, most of whom are ornery as shit, and then kill off ONLY the ones with a certain blood color, when lusii are, like grubs, also in every color possible. like, which is easier: checking a foot-long grub against a palette and forking it, or hunting down all the lusii on the planet, getting blood samples, checking those blood samples aginst the SAME color palette, and then fighting them.

If they have the technology to traverse entire galaxies, they can engineer a limeblood-lusus-specific disease; lusii for each blood caste apparently have the same blood colour as the trolls. Fork the grubs and also kill the lusii in case one of either escapes.
