maybe it's #bias but im more inclined to give tamora pierce more benefit of doubt than our girl jkr :v like vuatson i think she might just be misunderstanding because it's not something she's familiar with. she's pretty good with pretty much most other lgbt stuff so im inclined to lean more towards confusion/assumptions rather than being purposefully obnoxious
if i wasnt a weenie i would send her a tumblr ask because she's actually really good about that kind of thing normally

    yeah

also she's pretty old at this point, I feel like it's understandable if she's not on top of/has a hard time getting on top of the most recent terminology.

Verbing nouns is not uncommon in English, though I guess what happened here was that most fandom spaces got thoroughly homestucked.

Strife is most definitely a potential verb because that's how English works.

Yeppers! It did for me too. And that's an entirely valid stream for linguistic change. Hell, look at all the words and phrases Shakespeare alone entered into our lexicon by way of his plays. Language is a mutable hell sphere and while there are rules to it and how it changes, it's gonna change. Sometimes the change is even to the rules on how it can change!

    which is even more chaotic

Particularly relevantly, I seem to recall Shakespeare had the first recorded usage of "elbow" as a verb.

I was trying to type out an awkward joke about applying time travel to verb tenses because Homestuck, but it wasn't really working so I'll just link to the Douglas Adams joke I was failing to steal

apparently there is such a thing as Plagiarists Of Steven Universe AMVs

and while i'm glad that that means copyright won't be eliminating those amvs entirely from the internet anytime soon, it is really annoying and unethical

like, if the amv hasn't been striked down and you're not the original creator of it, please don't reupload it!

and yes, i'm talking about Literal Plagiarism, not just simply using the same song combined with the same show/character/pairing/whatever.

I am losing my goddamn mind THAT BITCH is seriously vagueing my mutual for shipping [bastard] with his brother and shipping [bastard] with [character 1] "while rejecting that he and [character 2] are in an open marriage" they're bffs in canon jesus christ.

"people who like [bastard] ships too much are on thin ice for me, not because of the guy himself but bc he's like the one nasties to like" eat shit and die you stupid freak.

that person also used to whine about content where dio bonds with giorno and is now whining about content where ogata bonds with asirpa. wow. years pass but your shit taste is still the same. they also had a lot to say about the fandom's attitude towards reigen ("he's not a parental figure he's SLEAZY and MANIPULATING A CHILD!!") so like... idk if that's rude to say but control your fucking trauma for a moment.

real talk, I hated them since my jojo phase. despite everything, they haven't improved a bit. actually I recognize many faces in this fandom and I fucking hate them all. idk why does seebs insist that antis will fade away and fandom culture will get better. these people only keep getting worse.

every big name user nowadays is an anti, OF COURSE they completely took over. if you don't like it, feel free to huddle together on locked accounts with two and a half fellow degenerates and hope you won't get called out! how can anything get better from here! everything is lost!!

Charlie I got no strings to hold me down

Recently I got into an argument where I have said interpreting Chara and Asriel as siblings is just a personal interpretation and that their relationship is ambiguous in game.

Personally interpreting Asriel and Chara's relationship as queer is important to me. It's a very similar relationship to one I had as a kid. I understand people who interpret them as siblings but I think people should totally be able to interpret them as not-siblings and it's literally impossible for me to read them as siblings.

Now all of tumblr and its Chara stans are attacking me and making assertations about my personal life and I'm stressed out.

I'm kind of risking outing my relation to this argument but the person who wrote this nonsensical rant (last comment) made a personal comment on me and how warped my personal life must be and I'm. steamed. I've received a few comments about this but now I'm reaching a... point.

Fuck, I'm ace myself. Shut up.

Thanks, I really appreciate hearing that yeah I'm right to view that as a fucked up message to get. I don't know. Fandom messes with me.

And I mean, yeah I have a fucked up family life! That's not why I feel the way I do about this though... I've sorted through my feelings. But to see their giant rant about how nothing approaches family life, how no romantic relationship can even come near it for it is all accepting and for them to cast aspersions on my own history. It's just... condescending and depressing that people are willing to go along with these kinds of people if it 'proves their point'.

I'm also annoyed they implied I had to ship Charasriel sexually to feel this way, or believe romantic relationships hinge around sex to believe this way. People will explore that concept in fandom sure, but it just reminds me of how any time I bring up a queer relationship IN GENERAL people make it about 'you don't have to make it sexual'. I understand for this subject it's personal because yes people relate to their siblings. But it just seems to be the same argument I always see.

I was pissed and told them to go choke but now I'm worried with the way fandom is they might interpret that as me suicide baiting them rather than just telling them to shut up. People getting on me about these things makes me anxious.
