Minnehaha Academy, an Evangelical private school a few blocks from me blew up this morning. One confirmed dead, at least one missing, several injured. I saw the flash in broad daylight even though I was not in direct line of sight. I thought it was a trick of the sun reflecting off something and then I heard the deep resonant BOOM. That gap used to be full of building. Two stories of building, which collapsed down to the foundation. Only some of the gas flame shows up in the sunlight. The entire front of the gap was covered with a sheet of flame, but you can only see it in the picture where it was in shadow.
News suggests natural gas explosion or something caused by contractors doing work on the building's lower levels from what I'm reading. Jesus, witnessed.
I just saw this on the start menu news thing. The picture's almost the same view, just with people doing shit in it. Fuuuuuck man.
The news helicopters have been circling around for eight hours and they are loud as fuck. My irritation after only eight hours has given me a little appreciation for life under US occupation.
I'm so sorry, man :/ I've been in a situation like this before, though it was more a crowd and not a building that exploded. Seriously, witnessed.
