Just got a letter from my health insurance telling me they rejected the claim for my psychiatrist appointment because...idk. apparently its one of the things im expected to use my HSA for??? /stares at the wall

Nvm that i have to see her every 3 months and its going to be $250 each time

Which...i think my account gets about $60 a month which is currently going to all my other copays & my mouthguard payments

Seriously tho what's the point of health insurance if i end up paying out of pocket for all the shit i need consistently anyway

There's probably a way to deal w this but I'm going to wait until i get an actual bill from my doctor and then go talk to the financial counseling people the health center has

(I could swear when i looked at the health insurance options it says specialists are covered, and it did cover...part...of my gastro appointment...but wtf. This whole thing is really hard for me to understand because i used to have paid health insurance at my grocery store job and i only ever had to pay copays. Now suddenly barely anything is covered??)

Now i can't even consider going back to therapy even once a month bc i don't think I'd be able to afford it

dental stuff has been sorted. Sort of. They finally found my insurance and sent the claim they were billing me for to it. Unfortunately it seems like my xrays never arrived at regular dentist so they requested them again. :| so once those go thru they will call me abt making an appointment for fillings. Which i hope is soon.

Have to remember to make mouthguard payment (is due the 24th)

Next thing to tackle is "understanding how the fuck my health insurance works" but at least that's less time sensitive.

 

...a mouse got into my fabric at some pt so now i have to wash a bunch of it bc it's had droppings sitting on it for who knows how long

i guess I should probably get around to getting some steel wool to put around the openings the pipes go thru but idk if there's any other way critters are getting in. what's weird is we have basically no bugs...yet somehow mouse.

 

Trying to keep track of things:

Sent mg payment for April.

-set up reminder for future payments
-renew license (make sure we both have all documents needed. Check best times to go to rmv)
-email the disability lawyer guy to follow up
-check HSA and send in whatever reimbursements you can
-call and figure out why card doesn't work


Looks like my monthly medical expenses come out to $115 (meds and mouthguard payment). I think i put $20 of each paycheck into my HSA and the company puts about $40, but unsure if that's monthly or biweekly. So that's between $80-$120 a month. Def need to figure out if i can raise my contribution so that's a thing to ask.

Ankle is still bugging me. Like it's def better than it was and i havent been wrapping it and I've been doing the stretches/exercises but it's still kind if swollen, the amount varies from day ti day, and hurts a bit occasionally. I'm kind of stumped as to what else to do but i am...reluctant to go back to the doctor after finding out my insurance refused to pay for my psychiatrist appt...and after i had to pay $80 for my gastro appt...on top of meds...I've been waiting for my HSA to refill to reimburse myself for the last 2 things and i haven't gotten the bill
yet for the psych appt. When I do I'm going to try to talk to the financial advisors at health center because this is ridiculous. Why the fuck am i paying for health insurance if it's not going to cover the services i actually need regularly??? I have ob/gyn on Monday too and THAT better be covered bc what the fuck

Why is our healthcare system so broken. I finally understand why people were complaining abt the ACA even tho i dont agree w them--free state health insurance saved my ass for several years and i absolutely think that level of care should be given to everyone, not just low income people. It's crazy that suddenly making *more* money means...I'm wary of going to the doctor because i can no longer afford it. Like that's some bullshit all right

Good: looks like ob/gyn is covered

Bad: practically everything else says "after deductible is met, plan pays 80%"

I think i somehow just. Did not...process the deductible bit? Bc the last time i was on paid insurance i just had copays?

I have a psych appointment...Monday, which is weird bc I'm 90% sure i had ome last month and it's supposed to be every 3 months?? I forgot to call and cancel/reschedule yesterday, urgh. And the health center isn't really open on weekends...also i still don't know wtf is up w my insurance not paying for it so I'd rather not have to handle the charges for 2 appointments...

I am just really overwhelmed, there's a lot to keep track of and I'm barely staying on top of daily stuff. Need to sit down and sort my papers before i get on computer tonight after work and at least know where i stand.

I forgot to take my meds yesterday morning and didn't realize until I'd left home for errands meaning i didn't take my birth control until i got home, i hope that doesn't mess w things too badly. X.x the new med was going pretty well w telling my period to fuck off but last night my feet swelled up like they do when I'm retaining salt and AAAARGH.

Just. Too much to do. And each thing is a thing i feel like i need to set aside a whole day for, even though i know objectively thats not true.

 

Like i know I've probably repeated myself on several things in this thread bc I'm trying to keep it all straight in my head and remind myself every time i forget. X.x i get...super overwhelmed by "you have lots of things to do in the future that require setting aside time and preparing" and making lists is only helping so much.

I think we did manage to set aside all the documents for license/id renewal, now its a matter of finding the time to go to the RMV D:

 

I guess it's a good thing I'm not shutting down or wallowing in despair, but i am *frustrated*, because i'm very tired of constantly playing catch-up with my own life because of my barely-managed developmental disorder

I'm resentful that it took until 25 to get diagnosed and now that I'm looking for resources, they're all for children

All i can do is my best, which is muddling through day to day, doing everything late because i cant get my shit together

Trying to keep an eye on the future. Hope that by the fall I'll at least be able to start putting things in savings. (Just dug into my $100 of emergency money for groceries this week. Unsure when I'll be able to replenish it.)

Want to try harder to go to bed before 2 and get up for work on time because while i can just stay later if i come in late, it just feeds into me going to bed later in a loop...

ok. I sorted all my receipts from this year and found...the one from my meds in january...so i can retroactively submit that also... Just sent in a copay so what's left to submit for reimbursement when I have the funds: January Meds, April Meds, April Mouthguard payment. About $180 I could really use rn. :'>

Looked at the claim for psych again. It was March 5 which...makes Monday's appt 2 months out, but it's still a bit early. I'm wondering if the reason health center never sent me a bill is because I was still technically on state insurance as my secondary at the time (sometimes my meds would go thru it?) and they covered it. I hope?????????? That still doesn't tell me whether or not my next appointment will be covered. So i need to reschedule it and find that out.

Thats what im lying here thinking about. How im procrastinating at work by doing all the other orders before fixing this backpack because every. Single time i get one in i have to turn it inside out to replace the zipper and no one ever CLEANS THEIR BAG. WHY. THERE'S ALWAYS YEARS WORTH OF DIRT AND MISCELLANEOUS NASTINESS. I sometimes end up just washing them in the bathroom sink. Otherwise my pants get dirty just from it being in the vicinity of my lap and i have to kerp doing laundry
