This is for all fiction writers, not just fan fiction writers, to ask for people who are willing to beta their story. I'm guessing a request format could be like Type: Original fiction or Fan fiction Fandom: (if fan fic) Vague outline of story/chapter/link to previously published chapters: Graphic violence or gore: Y/N Sexual references (but not outright sex scenes): Y/N Sex scene/s: Y/N Any potentially triggering content: What feedback/editing you would like your beta reader to do: I think that will allow people to decide which stories they are comfortable beta-ing! Also, as a rule, no one under 18 should be beta-ing fic with sex scenes in it. Like, I know you probably still real porny fic, but the fic writers aren't directly giving it to you if you just search for it on AO3, you feel. Probably also, people over 18 shouldn't beta porny fic written by under 18s. So uh. Yes. So uh! I hope this thread is helpful? Request away!

Graphic violence or gore: Not graphic, but mentions of blood and violence and fighting and all that Sexual references (but not outright sex scenes): Yes, but not graphic Sex scene/s: No (not yet, anyway) Any potentially triggering content: I can't think of it? A lot of themes are of mental health and there are like very vague mentions of abuse, but there's nothing explicitly described wrt abuse. What feedback/editing you would like your beta reader to do: Grammar, sentence structure, flow of the story, anything I could add in or take out. Thank you nwn;
@a tiny mushroom Oooh this is a great idea! I may post in here at a later date requesting a beta. (also I may have just read the fic you linked and I like it a lot, even if I do not consider myself knowledgeable enough about Dragon Age to beta it. (plus I do not even really know how you beta .-.))
I need a beta for my so far unposted Harry Potter fic, and also someone to yell ideas at me. @a tiny mushroom i would def beta it, but English isn't my first language so I let a lot of grammar slip. i am somewhat decent at other editorial stuff though and could still beta if my lack of grammar knowledge isn't a deal-breaker, or just offer less formal advice than actually beta-ing implies.
