it is high time there was a borderlands thread in my opinion, so here we are. who's your favorite character? how do you feel about the telltale story games for the series? is clap trap a nuisance or just a funny little robot? just plain don't know what borderlands is and are curious? discuss! @windmill :y
oh gosh it's hard to pick! i like tannis' quests most of the time because they always get really tragic or really funny and you learn a lot about her, but my favorite is probably face mcshooty: it was just really unexpected. oh, and nearly every quest in the robolution dlc because that was just fun.
There's comic books! How did i not know this! I want all of them! There's a lot of tannis in some of them. Im so happy, tannis needs more love.
@peripheral which game are you starting with? A surprising amount of peeps (at least to me) start with the second game first. I can kinda understand why, but the first game holds a special place in my heart.
I never got very far in the first, but I loved the second. Handsome Jack is just one of the greatest villains ever.
i started on the second game, but ive been stuck in the wildlife preserve for MONTHS i havent actually played in a long time because of that, it was rly frustrating. the game is super fun though, eventually i wanna return to it!
I also started on the second game, I wanna play the first game though! I also have the Pre-Sequel. Zer0 is my favorite to play as, sniper rifles are my favorite guns to use. I hate that this place looks pretty dead.
Hell yes, i love the snipers! I usually pick a beefcake first though and then get bored (brick, salvador) and switch to the long range stealth character. Ye sadly I'm not great at the talking part of my special interests or else itd be constant thread spam up in here
Ugh, I know what you mean, I can go on tangents about what I love. Then I feel bad afterwards because I know the person I'm talking to isn't interested, lmao. Yeess, big guys are the best, I also really like Krieg even though I'm not that great with him.
I have Borderlands 2 on my PS3 and PC(But I can't play it yet) and TPS on PS3, so if anyone wants to play with me at some point, let me know!
i did finally make progress!! i havent played in the last few weeks but im nearing the end of the game i think? been doing a bunch of side missions though to stretch it out though
I tend to like running Maya with sniper rifles - snipe things till something gets close, then hit it with Phaselock talented to infict All The Status To Everything, then shoot it some more. I should go back and play that some more sometime. And I think my favorite NPC is also Tannis.
My favourite NPC and my favourite player character are Claptrap (lol). I can't believe I didn't notice this thread! Especially after the wall I've talked about Claptrap in other places! But I started off watching a playthrough for Bl1, then playing Bl2 and BLTPS simultaneously while uh, ramming as much Claptrap lore into my head as possible. A Clear Favourite. For an answer beyond Claptrap, I like Zer0, Athena and Hammerlock all a lot. Tannis too.
although it's not handled perfectly, the way abuse is handled in the borderlands is very interesting. we have a lot of characters who are dealing with the ramifications of abuse and have it briefly touch on how it guides their behaviour. we of course... have angel and rhys both as major players re: that theme. both of them get to ultimately, deal the most important blow against someone who hurts them and manipulates them. same person even. more tragic in angel's case. idk i could say a lot about claptrap but in his case its sporadically played for laughs (that is... mostly, but they get super serious about it at times in claptastic voyage) even claptrap has a very cohesive abuse narrative if you spend a lot of time thinking about it though. which i do. every day. even if i care more than the writers.
@doresto Responding a million years late: I technically started with 2, but never got very far. Ended up playing through all of one and it was wonderful, except I side quest obsessively enough that I was a higher level than the final boss. Whoops. Now playing 2 and claptrap described my depression.
Borderlands 3 is coming!!!!! I've waited so long. I have Borderlands, Tales and anything else I can think of for Borderlands. I looooove the Gunzerker/soldier class. Those turrets, baby. I'm not subtle and I can't sneak worth shit.
I miss playing Gaige. I could boot up and play but it's kinda not the same without my borderlands buddy these days. SOON THO, we will def be playing three together. I love all of the games, but two has my heart bc it was the first one I played and also the first one i got to run with my best friend. however the pre-sequel has Aurelia and god. i'm so gay. Angel and Claptrap are my two favourite NPCs tbh, and I would die to have Angel back in-game somehow, I used to RP as a version of her who had access to the New-U and was able to revive post boss fight and went into hiding as a bandit, basically, even post Jack, and had a lot of issues with Eridium withdrawal.
I love playing with other people but I'm really happy by myself too. I don't have to worry about aggro and stuff. In Pre Sequel I played as a Jack "clone" because I loved that stupid bastard.
BORDERLANDS 3 i already know i'm gonna be playing the siren listen i have a type. i'm really liking zer0 and maya's new designs, along with the designs for all the new characters thing i really want in 3: gortys and loader bot, bring back the good good robofriends
