I feel obliged to drop one of my favorite fics of all time. It's basically Holmes <3<Watson <3<Moriarty, for the Homestucks, and it captures the ashen dynamic better than any canon Homestuck work I've ever found.

omg, i read that years* ago! <3

*more than one, less than two**

**edit: just saw it was first published in 2014 so possibly more than two. this does not matter very much but Accuracy Is Important :P

I'm rewatching from the beginning, and watching Sherlock and Watson grow from mutual distrust and dislike to respect and genuine friendship is my favorite thing.

    Miss Hudson!!!
I just love her so much
Like it would have been so easy to screw up her character and turn her into a caricature or a gimmick, but instead she's complex and interesting, and I want to watch a spinoff show that's just about her life.

We just got to the first episode of S4.

I noticed in the credits on IMDB that Morland Holmes is played by John Noble. AKA Walter Bishop. So here's my headcanon: John Noble isn't just playing every bad father figure, he's the Bad Father Figure. And Morland Holmes is Walter Bishop. And this is going to go very badly.

It's a great testament to his acting chops too, because they're terrible in completely different ways.

    i love this show!! aa

    ... however
im really :/ that they brought back kitty JUST TO HAVE HER INTRODUCE HER CHILD AND THEN GIVE UP ON BEING A DETECTIVE? like. *frustration*

i love kitty but i did not like this plot turn

To say nothing of the number of different ways he managed to be awful just within Fringe.

... And to be fair, I also think late-model Walter was a very nice guy, but his track record at taking care of his kid without destroying the universe wasn't great.

Why has nobody told me this was such a great show and that I would like it so much?

*cue several flashbacks of Meagen reading about the show, and remarking to herself: "Wow, this sounds like a great show and I might like it." and then deciding not to watch it*

I am only up to about mid-season 2, and I like the balance they've set between having the show be its own thing, and borrowing elements from the Canon. I'm very happy that the one Big Spoiler I was aware of happened in the finale of Season 1, so now I'm mostly unspoiled. And I really liked Mycroft and would enjoy more of him.

Holmes <> Watson OTP 5eva. I think I have a huge weakness for unbalanced m/f relationships where the feelings on the f side are at least 30% spite.

    Started Season 3!

So I kind of like that instead of having Mycroft be "killed off" with possibly future "the NSA faked my death!" twist, they had him come right out and say "NSA's faking my death, gonna vanish until writers get another good idea involving me". At least he learned *something*.

Joan's blossoming solo career as a Consulting Detective gives me life.

Also, can I just say I love AnonyEveryone as a recurring character?

I really like how with Kitty, Holmes gets to be on the other side of the "emotionally stable person trying to keep the brilliant but disturbed mind from self-destructive behaviour" dynamic.

I really like how they showed us the beginning of Sherlock and Kitty's relationship alongside its ending. I do hope she comes back at some point, the dynamics between the three of them were really good.

Okay, Sherlock and Joan were obviously moirails before, but S3Ep14 is like, pure pale porn.

Wow, the S3 finale was harrowing and depressing. :(

(sidenote: I have been hanging out on fail-fandomanon and wrote an Elementary minific for one of their "100 words of" prompt. Should I post it here or in one of the writing threads in Make It So?)
