I've heard It Is Good so I'm excited more excited for maybe at some point getting a new shirt though the new stuff i'm getting doesn't match well with whatever set i had before from... whatever i was doing before.
Two years worth of patch content with a janky idea of how to pace the setup, unfortunately. It helps to break things up with side content- the Crystal Tower raids are good stuff and turned out to be plot relevant! Otherwise, once you hit Leviathan the plot starts coming together better. Edit: sorry for the non sequiturish response, I didn’t notice the next page of posts.
Not to be reductive, but boy does a bunch of shit go down after the Steps of Faith quest Eta I know I'm discovering this years after it happened but boy!! Wow!
You know, i see a lot of people who've had the game hyped up to them getting frustrated w/ ARR, but I enjoyed it a lot. I think maybe bc when I started playing I didn't know anyone who was at endgame, so i took my time w/ everything. Sure, it improves by leaps and bounds as you go thru expansions, but with the exception of that bit around 2.2-2.3 (?) with the excessive fetch quests, it was still pretty good? I'm not even personally that bothered by fetch quests bc in FF14 they usually serve as worldbuilding flavor so. *shrug* I feel like the story builds on itself really well and people who story skip are missing out.
HW hype!! I appreciated the build towards the end of ARR. My husband had more... like, RP based issues with it, I guess, but I didn't mind so much. It was just a lot to do in a short period of time, mostly. Spread out it might have been a bit better, although possibly kind of underwhelming for people hoping for big new things in updates? Well, anyway, now I get to actually explore new areas and such, which is fun after being pretty familiar with most maps. Hating my current outfit though! it's dark green/light green and has an open shirt, which is just terrible on my poor lala. Looks like a joke! I'm a bard, not a clown! The choral set really was peak bard for me and if I end up using it as a glamor I'll be kind of sad because while I love it, I also was hoping to fall in love with something else, just for the novelty. The hat especially is choice; none of the ones after it have been good at all T.T
HELLO FINAL FANTASY FRIENDS, HAVE YOU BEEN KEEPING UP WITH THE NEW SHORT STORIES??? (ShB spoilers, mind your step!) If you aren't yet through ShB and haven't discovered the side stories yet, here's the main page for them! They vary pretty widely in quality, but the additional characterization and lore is really nice in most of them.
I pretty much hopped on immediately, unlocked the Nier raid, and sailed in with a few fc friends. I got the healer coat and the 2B outfit! It is, as advertised, not gender locked. Weirdly enough though the non-glam raid gear does have gender differences, which is... I guess not surprising, since there were a lot of dress options amongst the YorHa, but still a little baffling. Female characters are kind of hurting for more gender neutral and masculine options. I hope maybe they get something in the next tier. THAT ASIDE, the raid was extremely fun and renewed my faith in myself as a healer; I was messing up mechs less than any of the dps and not particularly more than my cohealer, who is a savage raider and a good one, and did a group save on one fight with healer LB3. MSQ was fun and had... a lot, at the end. Hoo boy. @_@ Speaking of the end, once you've finished up MSQ make sure to go talk to F'lhammin - she has a new sidequest that is very touching.
My catboy does not personally want the 2B dress but I am still deeply grateful it is available to him also, Spoiler ZENOS???????????? that thing with the Ultima Weapon genuinely made me scream out loud, my partner was laughing at me bc they'd played through already and wanted to see my reaction ARDBERT?????????? (entirely unrelated, but: Alphinaud teasing Alisaie and the Exarch about their respective crushes on the WoL gave me the giggles, I lov these idiots
Spoiler: spoiler because big The raid gear dyes!! I got the healer chestpiece 8) All of the chestpieces look super good, I want to get them all eventually.
Aaaaaaa that jacket is gonna look so good on Rhaya but I only have DRK to 80 and it turns out tanking new content is something I can do like once a day lol
