My lease is up in August and I'm contemplating a change in my living situation. I've lived alone with my dogs for the past...almost 7 years? But I'm looking to move from the condo I currently live in to a house (with a big yard for the dogs!), which means finding a housemate to split the rent. I'd welcome advice on how to find a housemate, how to vet a potential housemate, and how to deal with the lease. I haven't shared a place since I lived in student housing and I'm sure there are some pitfalls here. (Anyone on the Maryland side of the DC area interested in living with a space nerd and her fluffbeasts?)
