Like is transphobia real? Undoubtedly. I experience it day to fucking day. Is misogyny real? Likewise, I see it day to fucking day. Do I think some people think that they're cool because experiencing transphobia and misogyny means they're the Cool Kind of Person and that anyone who isn't the Cool Kind of Person talking about experiencing them is cheapening their status as a Cool Person for being Uncool while experiencing the Cool People Discrimination? Aha. Hahaha. Aaaahahahahahahahahahaha fucking kill me.
Not to mention people who have "TERFs/rightwing DNI" right next to "proship DNI" are deeply unserious people at best.
I do feel like a complete nolife loser for being hung up on antishippers in fandom in 20-fucking-24, but in my meager defense I have to see "proship DNI" almost every goddamn day and it never stops making me feel unsafe. It's literally the same as how I never stopped feeling unsafe around "gamers" after GamerGate. There was this huge subculture wide conflict that was never properly addressed, it just became cringe to be on the "losing" side, but the tools and mechanics of harassment available to gamergaters and antis never stopped being effective because there's just no beating social death as a tool for harassment for a super duper social species like humans. But I also don't feel safe around people who insist that "social death" can only be inflicted on people who are sufficiently marginalised, unlike me who is just kind of an awkward white guy as far as the internet knows. You're only ever as safe and taken as seriously by these people as your identity aligns with theirs.
This is not a new observation but sometimes I read fics tagged as "parental x&y" (as opposed to, like. Shippy x/y) which makes me think that the author might benefit from, like. Looking into ABDL just a little bit. Like. It's not a fetish fic, and the author would probably get very angry at me if I called it that. But this is kink, right? Are you aware that you're writing kink? Are you not aware you're writing kink?
XENOBLADE CHRONICLES X ON SWITCH XENOBLADE CHRONICLES X THIS IS NOT A DRILL I AM ABOUT TO BECOME SO FUCKING ANNOYING :DDD
Literally the only reason I stopped thinking about this game was because I didn't have a way to replay it without getting a WiiU This is about to no longer be a problem.
The fucking Halloween gag was not launched by Tumblr to detract from Matt Mullenweg being sued for human trafficking. Be so for real now. Trans conspiracism will not fucking save us.
I have covid for the first time ever. (Yeah, I dodged it for four years with a single vaccine.) My gums hurting like hell and my previously-infected teeth feeling loose and achey was not something I predicted would happen.
Obviously I'm not doing anything about this, but it fully rankles me me how often fundraising posts will do the Instagram thing of tagging unrelated fandoms in their posts. Like. That's just gonna get you reported for spam. Why would you risk that? Why has nobody told you you shouldn't do that, because it just annoys people in those tags who already weren't sympathetic to you and risks getting your account nuked. The fundraising efforts on Tumblr are so desperate and haphazard and wasteful. This is just poor coordination. This doesn't have to be such a shitshow. This just makes me feel like these people are being taken advantage of by people who told them they can "get lots of donations on Tumblr".
Like, let's be realistic here. If Tumblr is suppressing fundraising posts, do you really wanna be giving them reasons to be deleting your blog like this, and if Tumblr isn't suppressing fundraising posts, isn't it much likelier you're getting caught in the spam filter for actually, unequivocally tag spamming. This isn't even aimed at people who the fundraisers are for, this is for the Tumblr users who do vetting and signal boosting and networkbuilding for fundraisers. You cannot be too busy to not be looking out for your friends like this. It's such a minuscule easy thing to clarify. It's less work to not bother trendsurfing.
Reblog a post about queer art. Go see if OP is worth following. Five posts down they're blogging about how cringe asexuals are. Sigh.
Arcane is over? Maybe I'll finally finish episode 2 and the series. I literally could not get through episode 1 and 2, they were so, so boring, but everyone keeps telling me episode 3 is the first bass drop of the series so I guess I owe it to the animators to give it another go.
I don't really go for Dropout, their humour is very Yankee, but has there actually been someone blowing the whistle on them deliberately avoiding casting trans women or is this a case of a company failing to do outreach towards marginalised creators just like practically every company out there.
