Does anyone have any good recommendations for thinner gloves to layer up under a bigger/looser pair of gloves? Without prominent seams a plus, but I can deal for short periods of time. Vermont can bite my ass with its 5 degree temperatures during lab days.

How much bigger are the bigger gloves (little vs. lots of room) and would mittens potentially be an option? Mittens are generally going to be warmer than gloves (although obviously i understand the potential need for dexterity, which mittens just don't really allow you to have).

You might want to search "liner gloves" -- it seems like the category for thin, flexible gloves that are meant to go under other winter hand-wear.

    I second big large mittens
I got a pair of like, down-lined mitts from Costco a few years back amd they are generally great except if they get soaked

I have no glove recommendations, but if you aren’t using them already, I’d advise buying yourself a box of hand warmers. you can stick a pair of hothands inside your gloves and be set for 8 hours or so. I can’t use bulky gloves while flagging because I need to be able to use the radio, and these things have saved my circulation. I think they go for about a dollar a pair? it’s well worth the price if you’re going to be outside for any significant amount of time.

So i actually use straight up satin evening gloves for this. It´s a bit extra, but then i´m me.

I have poor base dexterity due to tremors and need my fingers for writing / notetaking during labs, so as much dexterity as possible. Thanks for the tips about liner gloves!
