Twenty-eight year old Southwest USian. I'm fond of fantasy and draw and paint a lot when I can. Probably biromantic ace? My friend goldenflowertea brought me here. ^_^
Heya, welcome to Kintsugi! :D goldenflowertea is a good egg and I'm guessing you are too. c: You might wanna check out Make It So if you wanna share your art! There's a general drawing thread but it's also totally acceptable 'round here to make your own art thread if you'd rather. And Fan Town might be a good place to meet other fantasy buffs!
Thanks for the welcomes! ^_^ Acey - yeah, he is. :) And I try but I figure I'm not the best judge of that. :p And I should totally go run around in Make It So for awhile! ^_^ inna - will do. And... [thinking] Tolkien and Narnia were my first loves as a smol, along with fairytale and folklore anthologies. I like what I've read of Patricia McKillip - tangled skeins of sometimes near-dreamlike descriptive writing. And Cathrynne M. Valente's Fairyland books, the mix of poignant and whimsical. And Seanan McGuire's Wayward Children (started into InCryptid as well but still early days for me there), and finally started Diana Duane's Young Wizards via interlibrary Loan last year, Harry Potter, *some* enjoyment though mixed feelings on what I've read of classic Oz, Goblin Secrets and Ghoulish Song by William Alexander, the Time series by Madeleine L'Engle... and I seem to have basically infinite patience for fairytale retellings. :p Neil Gaiman - Stardust and Coraline and Neverwhere. There are probably things I'll be remembering later but this list might already be longer than you asked for! Pumpkageist - Hi yourself! ^_^ Pleasure to meetcha. Everett - That's the plan. ;) NevermorePoe - Thanks much. Is the weather good for flying today?
I just gotta say that’s a perfect description of Patricia McKillip’s writing. And welcome! I hope you enjoy it here!
y'know, i haven't actually read any of those fantasy authors other than tolkein, l'engle, lewis & some gaiman books i think i'll have to check those out!
