a note. norm the genie's behaviour in the magic mpreg drink "storyline" is under the Characterization is Optional clause of the spr rules. it is not how he would behave in a more serious rp like the weirdmaggedon tango, and he will likely not remember it or reference it outside this "storyline." it doesn't reflect my core characterization of him entirely accurately, and isn't supposed to.

 

okay, cool! but can you see how the whole 'noncon transguy pregnancy' and then 'dude who revenge-mpregged someone dictating the terms under which the kid from said mpregging should be raised over the protestations of the person he mpregged' could be a tad squicky? like, i'm super glad that y'all are having fun and everything, don't get me wrong! it's just kinda making it a tough place for me to put my character rn for both ic and ooc purposes 8)

yeah, i can. in fact, that kind of thing was why i felt like i should add the note. i don't fault anyone for being squicked and i don't want to dictate anyone else's actions or reactions, but i wanted to clarify how norm's actions in this "storyline" relate to my characterization of him outside the "storyline."

 

i am half expecting ace attorney characters to show up to the rave and for this to escalate into a full on legal battle

 

If only I knew them well enough...

But I don't, so I can't do canon in-jokes, and that's at least a third of the fun for me

part of @Smol Norm the Genie's Goffik Zeus problem is that he doesn't know what 'gothic' means. or who zeus is, for that matter.

 

Ignoring the cultural baggage, Goffik Zeus is incredibly fun to say. I can't blame him :P

You know, yesterday I was really seriously upset about this and considering leaving the SPR. Everyone else thought it was hilarious, and I debated even posting about it even though Swirl's encouraged me to post about my badfeels because I felt like a girl at a comedy show full of guys laughing at some comedian's rape joke. (Sorry, friends, but that IS how I felt.) For one thing, I feel that the whole thing was a major violation of the "no sexual assault" rule because even though UA and I talked about this offline, I still do not understand how putting a fetus in someone without their consent isn't rape.

But you and @Petra, and Clover and Mituna's IC reactions, have restored my faith in the SPR and I'll stay.

EDIT: I would however REALLY APPRECIATE IT if this thread returned to the days when less of its humour was about doing really horrifying things to people who are considered acceptable targets for horrifying things because they themselves do really horrifying things as a matter of course and more of its humour was about dumb shitposting things and the level of nonconsensual activity in the thread was more on the level of drawing rude things on people's faces while they were passed out rather than nonconsensual impregnation.

 

basically, i agree about it being wrong and nonconsensual and violating, but i disagree about the category of wrong and nonconsensual and violating it belongs in.

 

For me it's definitely rape. Or at least so bad it may as well be rape. That might be me being female and having being forced to have a child I didn't want as one of my biggest fears though. I'm personally just ignoring the entire thing because of that.
