Yes, I meant asktheimprobableinvestigators. I did see an Undertale AU thing that had Frisk turn into a rose. Somebody tried to make rose tea with them. They were unharmed. It was weird.
Some AUs aren't exactly the weirdest I've seen but are kinda... Unexplainable. A/B/O might have its origin in the furry fandom, but where the fuck did, say, the Achievement Hunter hybrid AU come from and how did it get popular?

I used to be super into the au back when i was still kinda in denial about furry stuff and could probably still name some of who was what and why according to the creator. I believe the same person came up with the spooky scary roosterteeth au as well. Weird aus ive seen, hm... A dan vs and mlp crossover au Undertale bitties au (i get where it comes from but its still a little weird for me) The hobbit and pushing daisies sentinal/guide au [Insert character]stuck, where everyone in homestuck is one character. Faves are probably aradiastuck and davestuck Hetalia with those little marshmallow things? @Deresto it was a My Little Pony crossover as well, had boy!Frisk, and the only other thing I can remember about it was that Muffet abused Frisk's SAVE ability to test recipes.
@Deresto The APH mochis? If they're canon, do they count as an AU? Why does Redwall never have weird AUs? No fair. ("Everyone is vastly OOC" does not qualify as an AU. "Self-insert OC has ridiculous magic powers" might, but by the standards of fandom it isn't all that weird.)
Pretty sure I also have seen Mettatontale, along similar lines. Midnight On the Demon Patrol, right? I used to follow it, and iirc it was pretty good, I'm just no longer Homestuck enough to catch back up with it. My favorite 'weird AU fic' that I can think of - though it's not as weird as some of the ones here - is Game of Stacks, a ASoIaF/GoT academic library AU.
Im not sure, nyotalia and the cat countries seem to be aus as well but theyre technically canon. I was more focusing on the alternate universe part. The creator came up with it but its an au of their original work maybe?
Also, it was a joke, but there was a prompt in the very early days of Cherubplay called Cholerastuck. It was about John having cholera. It was the funniest fucking thing. And speaking of Cherubplay, I once RPed with Karkat Weston Vantas, who had an ORIGINAL CHARACTER DONUT STEEL called Willsmithichu. So yes, there was a Chris-chan AU and it was exactly as ridiculous as you'd expect.
