So anyway my favourite CATS fanfic right now is To Be Blind When You're Born. It's ongoing, updates about every two weeks or so, and it features cats who act like cats, and it's about Mistoffelees moving into London and and, uh, growing up and meeting cats? Actually just have the AO3 blurb

London, February 1939 - and an inquisitive black cat is learning how to grow up.

It starts with a pair of tiger-striped rogues with identical grins breaking into his humans' house. Then it's a whole new world to discover, full of fascinating cats who all have a little magic and a little wisdom of their own.

The world is changing - the humans are acting strangely, and there are very strange rumours about - but for now, there's a junkyard full of cats, and a city full of dustbins, and a sky full of stars.

It seems pretty setting/period accurate and I'm really liking how the characters are written.
Author seems like a cool lady.

 

does anyone have recs for harry potter fic that really gets into the fact that the series is set in the uk in the 90s?? ive been on a bit of a kick lately

(or am i gonna have to do the damn thing myself)

 

opened Ao3 and was surprised to see trailerstuck still updating, am going to read the whole thing through over the next week because the damn thing is probably as long as the GoT books by now, and contains more gore, heartbreak, and deceit. also probably incest.

its better than GoT tho, read it instead

Might be the wrong thread to ask, but some of my ao3 bookmarked fics have been deleted by their authors and I don't remember what they were, but I'm afraid one of them might have been the "yacht" fic. I'm not even sure if it was hosted on ao3, but it was a post game fic with the trolls, humans, parental units, and davesprite on a...yacht. Relationships ensue. I'm pretty sure it was written before the beta trolls showed up. Cant remember if it even had the alpha kids honestly. I miss it and if it's been erased I'll be super sad :(

I don't remember much else or what the ships were. Might have been davespite/karkat?? Also DS had only one arm but otherwise I'm pretty sure he was humanized again and he went by a nickname so there weren't two daves. Also angst over who is the "real" Dave. Y'all know how it goes

Hey, if this is the right place for asking for fic recs, y'all know any good FMA fics? I just finished Brotherhood recently and realized that now I am free to consume fancontent. Any genre, character-focus, or ship is A-OK with me...I kind of just want to know what the Good Fics are in this fandom that I am coming to so late......although if I did have to choose, I'd appreciate a little Greed/Ling.

 

I really like Elfpen's stuff. It's post Manga/Brotherhood. Mostly Ed as a uni professor, but there's also some on Al and Ling doing politics in Xing.

A modern-women-into-vidya-game fic, with some interesting thought into the dragon language and shit. I'm on chapter 62, there are Many More chapters but the "main quest" is finished.

The author is currently writing a Foresworn!Dragonborn fic as well so I'll be reading that next thanku
