I can def do that. And then I'd sew through the cord into the fabric? Like, so the crisscrosses of the braid sorta "sit" on the stitches, to stop it pulling through?
hey, SO does anyone have any good fabric websites that they regularly use? I don't have any fabric at my apartment and can't go out and buy some in person for Obvious Reasons.
I've seen some pretty fun patterns on Etsy and lord knows small producers could use the income right now.
@Astrodynamicist if you're hand sewing whip stitch is the one you'll want! maybe put a couple backstitches at the start and finish to make sure it's secure
been working on a sashiko kit. Technically it’s unfinished- the diagonal white lines are supposed to go in both directions - but I’ve ran out of white thread and obviously can’t get any more at the moment. I’m pretty happy with it the way it is though.
I'm considering spinning the cat's hair into yarn. I think I'll need to save up a lot more than I've got so far to get much, though. And I'm going to have to figure out a way to card it or buy carding combs. Also, possibly wash it? Or something? The cat has dandruff.
I knit... kind of constantly actually. I don't have photos (and rarely take them any more because I am lazy) but I'm currently working on a blanket for my brother and sister-in-law to keep in their camper, and a pink-and-purple checkerboard modular throw blanket for me. I'm making up my brother's as I go and using http://knittingsuna.blogspot.com/2011/04/mitered-square-blanket-pattern.html for my throw, alternating pink and purple squares. I'm quite fond of that blanket pattern, especially for stashbusting.
@Kirie Can I ask if you’re using a pattern? I love the little slipped stitch(?) lines and I think it might look nice with a yarn i have :D
I am piecing together some mitered squares I've been making off and on for... actually probably a year and a half now, to make yet another blanket. I have way too many hand knitted blankets. One of my favorites I've made though, was a Hero of Light Quest Bed blanket! Because sometimes you just need to go god tier...
Another socc I have been working on. I also dyed the yarn for this one. This socc pair will actually be a gift for one of my friends.
