those are neither parakeets not parrotlets, they look like greencheeked conures, which are pet birds so it's possible these escaped or it's a bird park picture idk.

I know there's a reasonable population of some kind of green parroty thing wild in london/slough that's descended from escaped pets. Could be that.

Its a monk parakeet in Malaga! They are technically invasive but Malaga is only like 10km from Africa and fairly tropical in Its own right

also yes there are green parrots in London, ring necked parakeets are invasive both in West Europe and Spain

eta not 10km more like 60km but my point still stands, there’s Griffon vultures and lammergeier here too !!

Burned off some nervous energy on a long walk earlier and saw a turtle napping on a sunny rock in the middle of a pond.

Went out on a walk in the woods near mine and I saw a jay! I didn’t think any lived up here!

(and several other birds, but they were more boring)

Had a blackbird buddy while gardening yesterday!

Cheeky bugger was so close I could have touched him and was Very Interested in all the area I'd cleared of weeds for veggies this year, and even sat on a stump maybe six feet away and sang his territorial song for me :) Made me feel much better about being homestuck homebound due to current events :3

I saw a snake a few days ago! It was sunning itself on the sidewalk until I startled it, then it noped back into the blackberry brambles. I almost never see reptiles in Bellingham, so that was cool. (I'm pretty sure it was either a common or northwestern garter snake)

Found a slow worm in the garden while clearing out some weeds! They're so shy and pretty rare and they have the cutest little faces. Legless lizards are the best thing.

I love slow worms dude I've only ever seen one once in the wild

Yesterday I woke up at like midnight and couldn't get back to sleep so I went for a walk at 2am and happened to get onto the canal as the sun began to rise and the birds began to sing.

I saw more goslings than I've ever seen, teenage ducklings, three (3) cygnets to the local Swan pair, several bats that came so close to me I felt the breeze from their flapping, and a tawny owl flew over me.

Also as I mentioned in the other thread, I caught some tadpoles that are now installed in my room and are my chirren now :3

Not to be a Party Pooper, but is that legal where you are? Frogs are pretty protected where i am and removing Them from their Habitat can get you in trouble

They're protected from sale and trade, but I looked it up and its just fine to nab some out of the wild and raise them as long as you put them back where you found them once you're done with them :)

Actually, research suggests that they're baby toads! But ofc I will, probably over on the pets thread :)

POV you’re a roe deer model but the camera dies after one image that isn’t even in focus
