Boat Trolls planning thread! (full of spoilers, non-players enter at your own risk)

yeah! well, it'd definitely still be fun for them to goof around. do you think she could fake up fins, or would they be sort of... off? can she make the kinds of tissue she doesn't normally have?

i think that erskin would be completely distracted by the perverse, mad-science possibility of rigging a landdweller up with gills. like, if she couldn't do it, he'd want to see if he could help her figure it out. i don't think he's lonely for swimmy company, since friends and captains come by to use his pool and he probably drops by the more public freshwater pools to play around. but it would just be /neat/. and he'd also feel a big fuzzy glow of usefulness if he could manage to help pancho out with something she couldn't manage to do herself.

 

Yeah! it'd make a lot of sense if she just never had much opportunity to study seadweller bits. She's a combat medic, not like, a private physician or specifically attached to some admiral or other. It seems like blues and indigos make up most of the officers on the ground. These are trolls, so I'm damn sure seadwellers aren't cowards hiding away in offices and war rooms, and in fact lead charges and operate from the thick of things. Probably another way Erskin feels like he's a terrible captain. He should get more combat training but he's always so busy!

ANYWAY, tangent. Erskin would be perfectly delighted to sit around with Pancho and let her poke his ears and gills and stuff. Maybe she just needs close study and enough contact and analysis to be familiar with it? Maybe she can brush up on which specific genes need to be flipped on to produce a highblood.

Also if Pancho COULD learn to grow gills, she'd be super prepared to not drown anywhere ever, which I bet Bel would approve of a lot.

Also Also it would be funny (to me) if Pancho tries to grow the electroreceptors on the fins, fucks it up, and has to lie down for awhile to deal with the overload of suddenly anything even remotely alive is punching her in the brain.

 

so when i read original jeeves and wooster books they're really cute but don't inspire me too much in terms of goofy new ways for erskin to phrase stuff, but i have been reading mediocre fanfiction all weekend and boy howdy does that make me ostentatiously creative. spite is genuinely the best possible motivator.

that and having to read the word 'whatsit' like a zillion times.

erskin got booped right in the snoot about the starvation thing, since it's obviously a sore spot, but i did my best not to have it blow up into an unpleasant THING like uh, what usually happens when i get carried away on the dramas. i wonder if bel even remembers being shown the video of feral baby captain erskin?

 

hopefully Erskin's actually-sincere SIGH WE NEED HELP WE'RE NOT GETTING AND ARE DEFINITELY CONTEMPLATING CRIMES IF NOT ACTUALLY DOING THEM is also enticing.

 

i need snoozes too, i'm not smart enough for this either. it's cute watching them bounce around though!

i bet whitey's a lot more conversant in physical tells and tics than bel is. this is probably a problem for him considering like all of erskin's tells are I AM HOPELESSLY STRESSED OUT.

 

that'd certainly be nice for plot reasons, sigmah and pancho are a badass team. i think i'm hesitant about this because i ended up really liking the cozy thing erskin has with lainey and arguus, even if it's not really meeting his emotional needs, and can't figure out how throwing jethro in there would affect it. though jethro whapping him across the horns and going 'let people take care of you, dumbshit' would, i'm sure, be nothing but good.

they want whitey for, what? criminal connections? to run drugs and gambling through? to brainstorm with them on how to make the place rich and disreputable?
