The Jaylen | Yeong-Ho swap is a big thing! I wasn't online at the time, but there was some ritual weeping in the Magic channels. We love our crow witch and hope the Lovers are a good fit.

Jaylen's caused some trepidation, Magic is so used to not being a part of The Plot that we almost don't know what to do with the risk of it. But we've been brainstorming a lot of mossy, relaxing options in case the classic Big Shit doesn't follow Jaylen in, so we'll see how the season goes. Chorb's chronomancy with the Foul Ball 0-2 cycle is already attention-grabbing as is.

Concessions are definitely a growing pains situation, people used to the easy money of old idol and betting strats are sore about it. I think they're cute with the versatility, I went getting stale popcorn and then Magic reached? A positive win:loss ratio?? Magic G00????

I think the biggest concern is how the temptation is there to buy money making stuff, but before the end of the week we'll want those new things, wills and whatnot.

I joined Blaseball on like... Thursday? After seeing it float in my periphery for a while, and because my sister loves it (she's Tigers). I joined Flowers on a whim and am quite happy with it, they're not a top tier team, but played well towards the end, and I like the garden vibes in the Discord.

Anyway yes it's been two days and I'm wholly in love with it, HELLO NEW HYPERFIXATION.

God, this was sure A Season. The Garages got the closest we've ever gotten so far to actually winning the series. Next time, we might even get that little bit closer and pull off a win, who knows! We sure don't!

I, for one, am still fucking laughing over the fact that the Magic improved Cory-12, only trade them for King Weatherman, and also Wyatt Glover somehow got worse.

Glover is a Credit To The Team but even a glove with the golden touch is still only a small glove, not made for holding up an entire economy... TnT

King Weatherman's trade was an outrage mixed with utter hilarity, and set off a good amount of "you know what, yeah, let's remember the real enemy - the Coin" sentiment.

At the time of writing this the Magic are second in the Mild Low, with 10 wins over the Breath Mints. Magic?? Good??? I don't know how to deal with this.

At the time of writing this, Magic has won our first round in the playoffs, and will soon be facing the Moist Talkers in the semifinals :D

After all these rebuilding seasons, magic goo!!!

Watching the Magic in the playoffs was great! Uppy downy etc etc.

    I’m excited about necromancy ..... 2!!.
There seems to be 1) a contingent of fans who are against using the “mean” game features because it’s mean to other fans (I don’t necessarily agree but sure) and 2) a smaller and worse contingent who think it’s bad because it’s mean TO THE PLAYERS, like, “sundaes profit off deaths!!” ok but I am not an in-universe character and I love chaos and bloodsports.

i’ve also seen people saying yorkromancy is bad bc it didn’t have the “consent” of his team’s fans..... and it’s like argh! the people on discord are not The Fans! the people on twitter are not The Fans! consensus is fake and blaseball is built on maximally chaotic raffles for a reason

    ANYWAY,

maybe the magic will still be good next season if eiz and oz make it back from elsewhere. well, glover’s back too. But We Can Hope

That was such a good semi-finals, I'm glad the black hole game went the way it did, so we had to go to best 6 out of 5 games.... it's so blaseball. Also the hilarity of the ongoing outrage that Logan was our only pitcher who won 100% of playoffs games, despite his frequent willingness to throw games in late innings... he can't keep getting away with it! and yet! he does!

And man, the election. There's been some good brainstorming of lore for the stuff already happened
    - Oscar keeps making trips to Elsewhere because it came from Bluesky there and there's something it needs to do but it can't remember what
    - Eiz went to help with whatever needs doing... and to bring Oscar back
    - Washer's stats went down with the shark chomp because one of the sharks just got stuck in there? and is now part of Washer? (that's gonna take a while to recover from)
    - Glover's back, despite those plans for a break, because gey needed the hand (:drum:) in getting that break, and the worry that Necromancy!2! will need that incineration protection again
    - We Saw That We Would See It, between Kurt and Tiana emerging from the shadows with some knowledge of being needed and Chorby's legendary chr0Nomantic battle with the Dot back in the day

(I am trying to make Chorby Chr0Nomancy happen as a term, we'll see if it catches on. I contributed to the Tiana design in the sketch with the objecthead wheel design, that's been incorporated in a couple other peoples' designs, that's exciting for me personally and for seeing the variety of takes people go with that - the display for emoji communication! the ominous glowing halo!)

The last few seasons sure have been seasons. The enormous Redaction parade taking more than half of Magic's lineup, bringing us down to almost the smallest team - the smallest membership team, anyway, while the Tacos experience the smallest functional team thanks to shellings and Elsewhere.

...And we're winning. A lot. Some mix of the boosts we've been intentionally doing, the reverb that saved us the trouble of bringing Logan into the lineup, and just which players didn't get Observed & Redacted means suddenly our pitching and defense are among the best in the league. We're first in Mild Low, and have been around the top of it this whole season. We're about 4th across the league.

A bit of a glass cannon, since it would take very little to strike down our few remaining players, but at this rate we're a lock for playoffs, and a genuine contender. The Steaks got boosted the last couple seasons with good parties and then good blood, so they're still pretty clearly in the lead, and the Pies are right behind them. But Magic and Worms are hand in hand racing between 3rd and 4th so far.

To some degree the team shrinkage was intentional - last election we sent two of our number into our own shadows for boosts and protection, Eizabeth Elliot and Francisco Presto- (who hasn't yet regained his last letter). Plan is to draw them out soon, Presto- first since his stats will better mesh with what we've got - esp since we don't know if the wills will change again over the next Siesta. We also drew out, at long last, the next Telephone-named character: Melton Telephone. Lore jam about their personality and history and appearance are ongoing, but so far looks likely to be Melton "no relation" Telephone.

With our Redacted players... more than half have been drawn to the shadows of other teams - Oscar Dollie to the Thieves, Wyatt Glover to the Wild Wings, and Chorby Short to the Millennials. After being saddled with Chorby Soul and chomped so many times, the Mills drew Short out to be an active player and help them rebuild - not as a batter, but a pitcher. She's doing decently at it, but not enough to beat us - it was a bittersweet victory. The Wings report zero intention of pulling Glover out, hopefully leaving the fire eater free to sip some spicy milk in retirement. No word yet if the Thieves plan to bring Oz out.

In Feed shenanigans: we're hoping to test how much impact Lootcrates' tweeted proclamations influence the game, by upshelling the last times that Tiana Wheeler and Kurt Crueller were batting for us - they haven't yet been attracted to any team's shadows, so maybe Lootcrates adding some definition to their location would send them back to us.
Folks are upshelling Liquid Friend's last location, in hopes that'll help Uncle Plasma to locate their recently scrambled friend and continue the investigation into the disappearances.
And, of course, some people are upshelling Peanut Bong, in hopes of getting Locrates to say funny words.

I think there's a few other plans going on, people upshelled Chorby Soul's incineration in hopes of speeding their repeated demise, but with two eclipse games to start the season it was a nearly inevitable thing anyway.

I want... Oz back... GOAT please return

BUT ALSO yes I am laughing so hard at our full eight-person team topping the division. As my friend pointed out, "Like it or not this is what peak performance looks like"

Nearly peak performance, but every now and then we hit the right/wrong combination of pitcher and stadium, and teams like the Lovers shut us out because our current crew has no sluggers between them and we just can't get the homeruns we need :')

I just opened the site, saw Oz pitching for the Shoe Thieves because of Fax Machine and went AHHH BUY VOTES STEAL GOAT !! GOTTA GET EM BEFORE THEY GO BACK IN THE SHADOWS! before realizing they're neither on the idol board nor Equivalent Exchange-able. Now I just have 1200 votes taking up one of my slots. Oh well,

me: the nature of blaseball is change. getting invested in maintaining stasis is a dangerous path that leads to frustration and being a dick to the devs

also me: i would kill a man to get that GOAT back

We stole their shoes blessing, they reverbed our players....

I am absolutely going to be drawing art of Oscar and Inky hanging out, Inky w/ multiple pairs of shoes on

Oh my god, they took Inky? I've been bad at keeping up with the Blaseball news, but it is nice to hear that we've actually been doing good after all the hard hits we've taken.

(It is also very funny how we're the smallest membership team - I joked to my friend about how much the Magic avoid plot like the plague and yet accumulate an eclectic list of trivia tidbits (first shutout, longest time without blessing, 112 balls at a single at-bat, etc.)

Blaseball has been my Interest the last couple months and even still too much blaseball has happened for me to keep up with lol

Happy to report that (so far) the only time a player got traded away to another team was the hilarious Cory-12 for King Weatherman trade, which somebody had voted for partly as a goof with like 850 votes. All the rest of our players joining teams lately have been due to the observation->redaction->shadows chain, or reverb shenanigans.

Logan's been a menace about random grand slams in the 7th inning and proving surprisingly good at skateboarding, earning the nickname Radriguez. Bonk has earned the (largely joking) ire of the Pies, leading us to an escalating shenanigans rivalry between them and Huber Frumple, complete with fun Did You Know infographics being shared back and forth.

We made it to the playoffs but lost to the Fridays in our first round, which honestly was for the best for us - chaos gremlins have been idoling Chorby Soul again, bringing the sea level higher and bringing sharks to all the playoffs teams. A few players used their items to fend sharks off, but poor rookie Melton Telephone (no relation) got chomped pretty good just before their game to pitch - I think it was the deciding factor, honestly.
We're just as happy getting out of it now as we are for having made it here, the better to avoid further chomping.
(Fortunately, the mathmagicians took a look at the fk, and report that Melton's stat array is still solid - a transfusion or party should go a long way)

The Plot is continuing, with York Silk and Nagomi McDaniels no longer available for idoling or play - they have been made LEGENDARY, possibly turned into gold and dumped in a vault. Theories abound that all the items we're getting from lootcrates are made of people.

On the voting side of things, Magic is aiming for wills and moves to pull more players into our lineup asap - partly to get some of our friends back, now that we're down to 6 total OG Magic, partly to make it so we don't have such a short lineup that our players are inevitable MVP bait. Fingers crossed Strange Attractor can bring Kurt home, Move can bring Dad back to the lineup, and that Pinch one can pull Eiz up. (Washer can continue simmering and recovering from that shark attack a few seasons back).

The next two weeks are gonna be the next siesta, so it's a good time to poke in and see some of the memes.
