I was listening to random episodes of a podcast that dramatically reads weird things they find on the internet and I accidentally stayed up way too late last night because I hit an episode on a site with the thesis that chemtrails are demons, and therefore it was the duty of all Christians to recite strings of letters as fast as possible to inflict various status effects and then SUMMON ANGELIC SPERM WHALES TO EAT THE DEMONS.

 

I would totally play this video game though.

 

I had a similar hallucination during my last break from reality.

 

I don't want to be a dick to people with delusions, and if that was what was going on, I hope that the fact that the website is down now means the person got help (or, for that matter, if they were just way too deep in conspiracy theories, I hope that it being gone means they got out), but I can't get over the specificity of sperm whales as the forefront of God's divine host against the forces of hell. I guess it's because they eat squid? I suppose God could do a lot worse than a 50-foot apex predator with big pointy fangs as long as a human hand, though.

 

Yeah, that's what makes it read as a well developed delusion to me. Like an actual your-brain-is-lying-to-you-because-neurochemical-imbalance delusion. You can follow everything logically from the starting point of "chemtrails are actual demon squid" and it makes at least a loose sort of sense. I used to have similar ones about a few random things that totally made sense to me and I could explain step by step, but in retrospect were batshit insane.
