My father is now claiming that the family of the apartment we lived in over two apartments ago is taking money out of his bank account, which is impossible because one: I was the one who wrote the checks so if anything it would be coming out of mine and two: he's changed cards since then so how would they know what his card number even was. He just handed me his new card and told me to change his cell bill over to it but I can't remember the password. So now I have to sit here and wait to try again because it locked me out.
Mood's getting worse and I have to push to get myself to do anything but stare at the wall, and tomorrow I have to get up and go out to get a blood test and the increased medicine dosage the doc prescribed. Hope it works quickly.
Messenger seems to be down. Infuriating enough, but it went down while I was actively conversing with a good friend! Thankfully I have her number so I was able to text her (turns out she’s having the exact same issue, so it seems to be platform-wide) but ughhhhh
Yeah…I just asked my mom and she said Facebook in general is down, which certainly explains things. Hope it resolves soon!
An online friend is transitioning and for some reason it's incredibly hard to think of him as a he now, though I don't have that problem with other people I know who've transitioned. I suspect it's partly due to the fact that he had a long-haired character for an icon for a long time, even though the character in question was male - at that size of artwork it's hard to tell. Subconscious gender associations are fucking weird, man.
People commenting "fake" under every YouTube reading of an /x/ spooky story. No one over the age of five is impressed that you're aware monsters aren't real, guys.
Tumblr: *bans nipples* Also Tumblr: *does not give me a reporting option for "this spambot sent me porn because you chucklefucks thought it would be a good idea to let people embed images in asks"*
I really want a cat but my sister's violently allergic and all other family members in the area would probably/possibly be out-lived by the cat so I'd have no one to handle it in an emergency.
Been trying to get a straight answer on whether ferrets are allowed in my flat and it's been eight goddamn months with no reply.
Urgh, I'm on a new anti depressant and while the effects of getting into it haven't been nearly as horrific as coming off the predecessor, most annoying side effects so far have been: - Neck aches. Come on, body, thought we were over this shit, quit it - Ear rumbles in the evening when I'm trying to sleep. Feels almost like that muscle is slow spasming and I can't predict or stop it, it's driving me crazy - lowered blood sugar. Who the fuck thought it was a good idea to put A DIABETIC on a medication with a known side effect of hypoglycaemia?? Why body please quit it In short I'll take the drowsiness just fine if the rest of these symptoms please fuck the heck off
I burnt the last of my red rice, because I put water in the pot, forgot to turn on the microwave it was in, drained it, realised it was raw, and tried to cook it again without putting enough water in again. I really wanted that red rice too. Ah well, better order more.
I'm all for teaching kids gratitude and politeness, but articles like this just seem to be attempts to justify giving kids gifts that the adults know in advance the kids are going to hate, which seems really selfish on the part of the adults. There was a nice discussion of that over on Tumblr a while back.
I don't know, I feel the article was actually pretty gentle. Cases like this are complicated because you can try of course to get your kid the best gift they want, but it's another thing to tell someone else what to get a kid. Inevitably, people are going to get gifts for people they don't like even with the best of intentions (and even with hoping to get them something they do like)
Frequently when I read Naruto fanfiction, there are scenes where Naruto gets berated for being loud or socially inept (usually by early Sakura) which is totally in character but grinds my gears because there's no explanation to him on how to correct his behavior other that 'stop being rude' 'stop being annoying' or 'shut up, idiot'. How's he's supposed to know what to change if he's not told what's wrong???
Seeing dumb shit on twitter. No this author didn't ruin this other authors work, you can't compare a character you hate to the real life person the character is based on. It's really clear this person hasn't even read the books they're talking about, and I'm begging people to stop using wikipedia as your only source. Also whoever changed this other authors wife to be the man a majority of the fandom ships him with because of said manga is....something.
the entirely fair and valid state ban of a non-native disease vector plant, which happens to produce a fruit I really want to work with fresh
Reading an article about the riots at the capitol on january 6, and the rioters are being described positively.
