Fishin' in the stream of consciousness (all-purpose, no topic chat thread)

Youtubers are better when it's two or more people in the video and they can bounce jokes off of each other. I can't watch twitch where it's just one person talking because it bores me. Example: Microwave Society is great because these guys have clearly known each other for awhile and their vibe is very just guys being dudes and I love that. But I'm looking for new youtubers to watch and was wondering if there were any youtubers that have the just guys being dudes vibe but with all women. Any suggestions?

This is probably no help seeing as the only group on YouTube I pay any kind of close attention to is the game grumps, but jenna marbles and Julien are the epitome of both "just guys being dudes" energy and "I care not for what you want" energy I've ever seen. She sadly no longer makes videos but I'll be damned if I ever see another YouTuber turn their hair into a freaking hot wheel track. At least one person in this group is female so I figured that's at least half a point in my favor? Sorry for being no help otherwise

It's only audio, not YouTube, but I really enjoy I Will Fight You, a monthly podcast where they talk about some piece of media or pop culture. The recent Labyrinth episode was great.

 

dozens of old and new shows I want to watch, dozens of books, the biggest impromptu book club in history ongoing on tumblr, all of these would be fantastic options for new things to get into - but no, brain has decided that this week's new blorbo is the Doom Slayer. you know, the protagonist of those games I don't own and haven't played

 

I'm having a great time with said book club because I have been telling people how wonderfully stupid of a book Dracula is for years and finally the rest of Tumblr is seeing it firsthand.

It's because of Dracula Daily, which emails you sections of Dracula in real-time on the dates the letters and journal entries are dated. It's up to the middle of Chapter 3 right now, plus the beginning of Chapter 5.

The nice thing is since Dracula is public domain, the full text is easy to find online and there are even free legal audiobooks.

 

I've been getting the emails, I just haven't read them yet due to being thoroughly distracted by Doomguy. I just started backreading though! Harker is a pretty good blorbo himself!

 

Oooh, very exciting! I'll probably backread with a physical copy and then start to follow on the emails then, that's a good format to get me to actually read fairly well. when it comes to longer form reading i'm still shit at doing it without a physical book though, unless it's fanfic

 

you should know that Dracula Daily is sent in chronological order, which isn't the same order as the book! you'll have to skip around some to match the emails

 

Considering getting netflix again just for the third season of Love Death + Robots. I think I've rewatched the trailer every day this week.

 

Forgot how much I loved the Zima Blue episode of Love Death + Robots. I think it's my favorite episode followed by Good Hunting.

 

Question about mortgages, do you have to use the bank you have an account with or can it be any bank?

Just finished watching the third season of Love Death + Robots and it was great! Swarm and In Vaulted Halls Entombed where the most horrifying episodes, but Jibaro was my favorite. Everything about the animation was stunning. Can't imagine how much time it took to animate all that jewelry.
