You might want to try something like this, which is supposed to be good for sensitive teeth and is not mint flavored.

Yeah, my GP has now given me extra ibuprofen dosage, and I'm still fighting for more codeine because my mum - gods bless her - is already horrified by the amount I need to take so has taken to regulating it on top of the limited dosage I get every month. The codydramol I can understand, because too much paracetamol is a bad and I'm not good at regulating myself, but does she have to keep hiding my actual codeine, too?

I did mention it to my GP, that I'm likely drinking too much atm because the scrip painkillers aren't cutting it that well, hence the ibuprofen, which is slightly more effective than the OTC stuff but idk, not as effective as the opiods lol.

We're trying to figure out why my hip hates me so much - I've tested negative for rheumatism which was our first guess, and I had an xray last week I'm still waiting back for the results on. I am SO AFRAID that they're gonna go 'welp, there's nothing visible, guess you're just Like This' at which point I am going to dive into a whiskey bottle and never return lmao

basing this on a medical issue a friend of mine had: it might be a soft tissue degradation with might not be visible in an xray, so i would suggest that if the x-ray doesn't show anything, they do some sort of soft tissue imaging to rule that out.
If it helps any: if it's that, said friend had corrective surgery for their issue and has MARKEDLY improved on things like pain level and mobility.

And I know your mum means well, but uh. it might be worth telling her too that hiding your painkillers is driving you to selfmedicate with something else that's no better and less monitored than your codeine intake

Yeahhhh, I'm worried that if I do that she'll just start hiding my whiskey as well. I know she's trying to help, but her idea of help is already giving me grey hairs :/

Since I've started taking Adderall, it feels like my face has gotten REAL oily, especially my nose and eyelids (forehead to a slightly lesser extent). Even if I've wiped it down with a wet cloth or some Burts Bees moist towelettes I have, a few hours later if I touch a fingertip ever so lightly on any of the problem areas, it immediately looks like the contact spot was just dipped in oil, it's so shiny. Should I be doing anything to mitigate/ help it that I'm not?

I think the first step might be talking to a physician? They may have experience and be able to recommend appropriate steps or be able to tell you if it is likely a consequence of the medication or if that would be unlikely and you may need to consider other causes.

In general, at least from what I've seen skincare is extremely individual and what might help for one person doesn't for someone else. One thing I have heard is that if you do something to remove oils from your face (eg through washing, etc.) it can cause your skin to try to correct the issue by over producing oil in response. You might want to look into a lotion or something similar that you could apply after cleaning your face? Once again, this is something I've heard and not looked into, so take it with a grain of salt. But I do think contacting a doctor would be reasonable to do.

Has anyone else had a problem with food freezing to the back of the fridge? I tried turning the coldness down a notch and that just made the milk go bad, and it's hard to avoid accidentally pushing stuff right to the back. Is there some kind of, I don't know, small screen I could set up to stop stuff getting pushed right back?

Do the 'boards' in your fridge have a little raised edge at the back? Because mine do, to prevent this exact issue, and if not, it might be worth looking into some.

They don't. Can you show me an example of what you mean so I can see if my fridge's manufacturer has ones that would fit?

I'll be real I have no idea, this fridge is part of the kitchen that came with my apartment, and is presumably from like, the 80s

Aughhhh so anxious about my new relationship and my brain is being stupid. Anyone with experience with t4t romance willing to DM me and listen to me ramble? Might have internalised transphobia, REALLY like this girl but idk if I'm even ready to meet up irl just yet.

Is it normal to be sort of afraid of losing weight? The idea of not having my own belly there to hug is kind of distressing and feels alien. I don't know if it's a defensive weight thing or just fear of change.

I think that falls into the category of body dysmorphia? It doesn't have to be gender related, and I have the same fears and uncomfortableness when thinking of my own weight.

Eta I definitely meant to put dysphoria there

Does anyone have any advice about getting a job for the first time?

SNAP benefits now, apparently, have a work requirement... And I have never had a job, due to intense anxiety/ transportation issues/terror of my medical benefits being taken away. I have no idea what I'm doing! I REALLY don't know how to file taxes! The job will most likely be in a gas station/dollar store/other retail, which everybody knows is fucked, and and and

Many retail places have job fairs! It’s basically a walk in interview, where you go to the event, someone is there representing the place of business, and you sit down and interview. Many places will hire part time, open availability, so if you prefer a routine and/or specific and set hours you should make that known as soon as it comes up.

There may also be businesses who do this kind of thing (help people get hired) for a living, so you might be able to Google a local business.

Local news, libraries, and local government offices may have leads you prefer, so that’s also a good place to look.

temp agencies for general labor will take just about anybody, if you're worried about a blank resume, though the type of work available might not suit. the one I worked for (peopleready) did a lot of traffic flagging and night stocking. also, "I will show up on time and not do drugs on shift" may put you head and shoulders above other applicants for some jobs of the type you mention, for what that's worth.

Agreed with above notes! When I got retail jobs 1 and 2 I mostly just. applied to places that were listing on indeed and kept an eye out. If transportation is a problem you may want to try and go around the areas you know you can relatively easily get to and see if any have little signs out about hiring - where i live a lot of places still do. For a lot of simple retail, all they really want out of a person is a willingness to follow directions and having a demeanor that's not actively unpleasant.

For resume building, I've always found it handy to just sorta. look at a handful of example resumes and cut and paste one together from elements they have that you can use. it feels very weird to talk about yourself in the third person and compliment yourself on a resume but it's necessary, to just take a deep breath and close your eyes as you describe how you love collaboration or whatever.

As for taxes, You've got a solid 6 months to learn taxes! It's a bit of a racket cause they try to upcharge you all the time but filling them out with turbotax is genuinely pretty easy, especially if you just have a W2 (which, for a random retail job, is almost certainly the only form you'll have/need)

if you're nervous about worker abuse, the most important thing is to know your rights. if you have a disability find out what your state requires for accommodations and anti-discrimination, and look into what breaks you're entitled to and what the most common forms of wage theft look like. Wage theft is an open and shut court case and companies know it, so if you push back against it by making it clear you know the laws they'll fold pretty quick most the time as far as I've experienced it.
