No. I am making fun of Solas in an attempt to talk myself out of my lust for him.

    >We need to close the Breach.

Is Varric going to go the "no shit" route on this one?
    [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]
...I really wish Varric had gone the "no shit" route on that one.
Incidentally, there are other things you can ask in much less... weighty... conversations with these guys. I know myself well enough to know that if I just ask them everything every time I can I'll never get around to anything else, and especially if I pause to let you guys pick options, so... how about whenever we finish a thing and I present you guys with the quest list, "Go bother [name]" is understood to be just as much an option as the actual quests? IDK.

Anyway. I run around the town, totally failing to find Minaeve.
On the bright side, there are plenty of NPC conversations to eavesdrop on.
I think I'm gonna need to catch a trebuchet ride.
    [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]
No, no, the greensplosion was an inside job! Wake up, sheeple!
One benefit to getting lost, you find little gems like "a popular, if historically unlikely, Fereldan tavern song" about Andraste's dog. Shoulda known Fereldans wouldn't accept any major religious figure who didn't have a dog.

Which obviously means the Inquisition needs a dog now. Is there a Dogquest The Third?

Be grateful for their 25% Magic Defense, I'd imagine.
    [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]
I love this Dorf NPC's "explaining things to stupid humans" voice.
Okay, the "Know Thy Enemy" quest icon keeps looking like it's in this direction, so I think Minaeve may be in the chantry. Going there is an advancement of "The Threat Remains", so we're just going to have to put up with advancing the plot. ;)

Cassandra, not being dumb, notices how we keep staring at our hand.
Being a good friend, she asks us about it, giving us another chance to emote!

I just. I love this moment. The face looks sad; the VA sounds angry. This is a way more complex emotional response than I'm used to seeing in this kind of thing. Wow.
    [IMG] [IMG]
Again, we're sad and angry here, because tbh under the circumstances why wouldn't we be?
    [IMG] [IMG]
I'm not going to like this, am I.

    ...I was right.

    2!

    Oh wait.

Edit: That was for last time, when there was no 2.

    Hmm... I'll say 3 now.

I'm excited to find out what horrible thing I'm going to be doing to myself in the name of powering up!
But first, we get to meet the team.
Got a nice little war room all set up in here!

Sadly, he seems unlikely to run away hilariously as soon as I talk to him:
    [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]
Was that hitting on us? It sounded like she was hitting on us. People who've played this before, is she hitting on us?
    [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]
    I lol'd.

She's totally hitting on you. Also I lol'd at the idea of Cullen running away.

@unknownanonymous I think Josephine might appreciate a little more smoothness than that if we're going to flirt back, lol

    >A pleasure.
    [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]
That's definitely not going to make the actual-Chantry-chantry even more pissed off at us!
    [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]
Are we all forgetting the part where it's still way high up? Like... maybe we should build some stairs first or something?
    [IMG] [IMG]
Like flying? I'm pretty sure they still have an upper range, is what I'm saying.
    [IMG] [IMG]
...this is what Jerkface ran off to do, isn't it.
Option 3 has a good point- have the mages been letting the Chantry's opinion stop them up till now? But anyway-

    >That was quick.
That would make sense, though, and this is the Chantry!
Maybe they'd be less scared if they bothered to find out that I am not in fact a Qunari? No, I'm not letting this go.
    [IMG] [IMG]
On the subject of Jerkface, I'm no longer sure that storytelling suggests he's a red herring. He's clearly becoming a more important political opponent of the Inquisition, so it wouldn't just be "hey, that random guy you already hate? yeah, he's a mass-murdering traitor too." If his guilt is confirmed to the player early enough, it'll be like with Loghain back in Origins- we may know what he did, but he got his version of events out first.
And his version of events is making our lives difficult.

    >Investigate >The Herald of Andraste?
Haven't we been over this, Wren?
    [IMG] [IMG]
Possibly because she's glowing and saving people and there aren't any better theories.
    [IMG] [IMG]
Leliana gives Cass a really interesting look for a moment here before speaking again. I get the impression they've disagreed about how to handle the whole Herald thing, but I couldn't say who I thought was on what side, or even what the sides were. Is it about whether it's useful enough to encourage vs. not cool to be cynically manipulative about a thing like this? Is it about whether they think it's true?
    [IMG] [IMG]
Despite this being a question specifically about our feelings, all the options have the branching arrow rather than emotional icons.

And random drunken one-night stands! Do Heralds of Andraste get to have those?! EXPLAIN, HUMANS!
I'm sure they're not worried about the same type of thing!
...yeah, still not sure what the disagreement was about. And that's assuming I'm not just reading too much into a half-second look.
Conveniently, this brings us back to the same options we had before we asked about the whole Herald thing!

I've always noticed that weird little moment of eye contact, but I've never been quite sure what the intention is there. I don't think you're ascribing too much meaning to it, though.

Nahh, Solas will love you as long as you go TEACH ME SEMPAI on him. I tried to be on unfriendly terms with him but Orion Lavellan was WAY too honestly interested in hearing all about Solas's adventures gaining ancient knowledge (Orion too is a history nerd)

Seeing as the song refers to the mage rebellion, then yeah? Mages, esp. former circle mages and apostates who lived in fear of being sent to those, are finally getting a chance to live their lives (and I just love that specific tavern song)

    Yes.
