I think they still have Conjunx Enduras too just having a "Best friend" or with my homestuck showing moirail is seen as more imporant? Since they understand what Conjunx Endura is.
Nautica only brought up the notion of Amica Endura when asked about elective kinship. Given that she's a little flighty I'm not sure she would have thought to mention also having the system of Conjunx Endura if the Camiens had it, but regardless she doesn't. I do agree that, of the cases we've seen, Nautica/Firestar looks more like it would be a moiraillegiance compared to Chromedome/Rewind's matespritship, although given that Nautica and Firestar don't seem to interact much and neither are really all that enthusiastic about the relationship, it's not really clear.
So I recently got a papercraft commission from curlicuecal on tumblr, and there's one panel from MTMTE I've been wanting to try crafting for ages, with my two favorite robot husbands. But it doesn't really lend itself to cross-stitch or any of my skills, and I didn't know what to do, so it was on the back burner until the papercraft thing came up, and I was like OH WAIT. I do wish that Rodimus would stop enabling Chromedome's mnemosurgery addiction. We've had it come up before that deep reads on corpses and unwilling patients are both seriously threatening to Chromedome's life, and Rodimus has been one of the primary people pushing him towards using it more, because it's so useful. It's not that it isn't a valid option when you have lives at stake, but one of Rodimus' first options is often "Chromedome, read the mind of this corpse/prisoner/coma patient," and it seems like he just doesn't realize the stakes even if he's informed because, well, it's just what Chromedome does for him. It risks becoming something routine because there's no physical sign of how incredibly dangerous and potentially damaging to Chromedome it is. And Chromedome's ability to protest it and stick up for himself is lacking because on a certain level he really does like being the galaxy's greatest mnemosurgeon (or second-greatest, as it happens) regardless of it being dangerous because it's something that he's really quite good at and it feels very validating to know you're the best at something. We've had it foreshadowed by Rewind's message that Chromedome could possibly kill himself or worse in the future by injecting.
*nods* I think Chromedome is addicted as you said and I think Rodimus doesn't realize it because I think if Rodimus realized it didn't just 'take a lot out of him' but could kill him he'd be putting the breaks on more. Rodimus seems a fan of throwing his own life away not others he just has huge fucking blind spots about others behavior and motives and lot of people assume that Rodimus knows things and gets it when he doesn't. Take for example with Optimus does the disappointed father thing on Rodimus during Dark Cybertron and told him he should have stepped down - you sort of get the feeling Rodimus didn't know that was an option or saw it as ducking punishment and responsibility. (And I think I just talked myself into headcanoning Rodimus as having the cybertronian version of autism or some other brain weird). But yeah it needs to stop being Rodimus first go to, and hopefully Megatron keeps on calling Rodimus on this and points out in details WHY its terrible and why what he's doing is hurting someone Rodimus calls a friend. (And Optimus didn't help by doing something very similar in calling Chromedome in to go into Megatron's head.) Also the entire crew of the Lost Light should be having mandatory sessions with Rung if JUST for the fact most of the crew has major PTSD. Like again, I'm not excusing the fact that Rodimus did (and has done) a pretty unethical thing and is often a really terrible Captain and friend. (And I really hope when Drift and Ratchet get back they have Drift and Rodimus TALK and Rodimus have to make things up to his best friend and admit that he fucked up so hard they had to invent a new word for it.)
