A fallout with Blue Diamond seems possible, but there's also the possibility that she knew Rose in some capacity... Also, a thing I noticed. We've seen three Pearls so far--our Pearl, Blue Pearl, and Yellow Pearl. And they're all built identically and have the same basic features, but there's one difference: Blue and Yellow both have their gems on their chests, whereas our Pearl has hers on her forehead. And I'm guessing that's significant somehow. A lot of people seem to assume that Pearl's "defect" is that she doesn't have a master, but I personally disagree (especially since Rose was her master before dying), and I wonder if her gem placement has something to do with it...
Spoiler she is HUGE! i love it. i love how massively varied the gem's sizes can be. also, i am pretty much convinced that the Rose Diamond theories are a red herring; it's been pretty firmly established that gems of the same type will have very similarly sized and shaped bodies. (y'know, unless they stay in the ground too long.) Rose has a very similar height and build to Jasper. and she, Jasper, and Amethyst all have huge glorious hair. after seeing Yellow Diamond and how tall and thin and angular she is, i can't image Rose being a diamond. (although they're being awful fuckin cagey about showing us pink diamond, i do admit) i loved that! in a way, it's the rigid caste system of Homeworld backfiring on them. Peridot was created and then intensely socialized to be a logical problem-solver. she never had any choice in the matter. and now those qualities lead her to commit treason! beautiful. this is my skype chat a couple minutes ago: all this time we've been wondering 'will peridot ever really join the Crystal Gems?' and then BAM THEY STRAIGHT UP SAID YOU ARE A CRYSTAL GEM I AM JUST. AHHHHHHH
Spoiler: THEORY OKAY I'M SCREAMING BUT MY THEORY IS so we've seen three Diamond murals, and something interesting is that all the Pearls we've seen so far had their gems in the same place as their Diamond's gem. whether Rose was once Pink Diamond or not, if Pearl had belonged to her, her gem should have been on her stomach!! two theories: - Pink Diamond's gem is on her head, and Rose is NOT Pink Diamond - Pearl belonged to White Diamond, the fourth and final diamond, and White Diamond's gem is on her head we've seen a third Diamond mural, if I can find it, that has to be either Pink or White Diamond. whichever Diamond it was, that Diamond had their gem on their forehead; I suspect Pearl belonged to them, and NOT to Rose or Pink Diamond. I mean...look at Pearl's coloring. she's completely white; it would make some sense for her to have belonged to, at the very least, a white gem, and not Rose. so then the question is, how'd she end up with Rose Quartz? edit: FOUND IT the third Diamond mural, with her gem on her head!

ON A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT TOPIC for .5 seconds because I just saw this post and I realized just how much I had in common with Rose, like before I was like "Yeah Rose I feel you life is pretty cool" and "hrmmm her empathy issues sound a lot like how people describe empathy issues w/ autism" but then I read this post and I was like "aw heck yeah that's a lot like me" because I don't wanna say I have no empathy whatsoever, but I know sometimes I say the wrong things and mess up and stuff. And dang, does the world fascinate me. Mymain interests are biology, anthropology, and psychology, because people are interesting and life is interesting and when I see horrible people my first instinct is usually "WOW I wish I could open their head and see what they're thinking." and I know it might sound creepy but I love checking up on people's blogs and I love gaining insight on what they think and how they feel about stuff. idk I am just very excite thinking about that sorta thing, because I am not used to seeing people like myself, and now suddenly with characters like Wirt from OTGW, and Pearl and Peridot and Rose suddenly there are a ton of characters like me! It's exciting and new! It's also really nice that this person doesn't see Rose as super creepy, because I worry sometimes that people would find me really obsessive and creepy if they knew more about me. (also I will totally make a subaccount for my Pearlsona ...............once I can find my sketchbook. and manage to drw something I like. and get a new card for my camera. >_<)
see, this is why I relate to Rose. I have extremely low empathy; I struggle a lot with even the concept of empathy. (thanks, SZPD and STPD.) but! that doesn't mean I don't care. I find people, and their experiences and differences, fascinating. and I love to learn! and I love to know! and I like to help in any way I can! and Rose is very similar to this, and she's not a villain!!
ya'll look at this! yellow diamond's voice actress singing. they weren't fucking around when they said every cast member had to be able to sing. i think i'm gonna start googling every new character for singing stuff like tang does.
i kinda want to figure out a parody of anything goes for yellow diamond. i don't really have the energy for that right now though...
