It's freeform silliness. You don't have to stay in-character if you don't want to. You can break the 4th wall if you want.
The main rule I can think of is, you control your own character, not others. Feel free to say what you intend to do, but don't assume your character succeeds at anything they do to someone else.

I stopped my genocide run after 2 Froggits and a Whismur. The expression on its face when I killed it made me feel so bad. I reset the game, and for what? So I could destroy everyone? I knew that people would spare me, and all I would do is kill them. The No Mercy run is not for me.
