I have been dealing with doctor stuff all day and have only just now come to read this thread so I didn't expect to be included in much.

Tourmaline wants to steal EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOU right now. But if Tektite is still there they should hang out.

Tourmaline is a lot older than the rest of you I suspect. She believes she is a selfish thief, not a true rebel with the bravery to challenge the Diamond Authority openly like Rose Quartz did.

Do not let her fool you.

Pink and green Tourmalines don't call themselves Watermelon Tourmalines any more because some quite long while ago, a Watermelon Tourmaline who was involved in the colonization of a planet with sentient organic life on it totally fucking snapped after having to watch a bunch of little kids die, deserted and stole a ship.

Ever since then, Melon (which would be what her friends would call her, if she had any) has been stealing weapons and other genocide supplies and using them ON colonizing missions. She is basically a giant thorn in the Diamond Authority's side. If she's not on the 10 Most Wanted list, Rose Quartz must have been doing some serious recruiting. She thinks she's not brave enough to be like Rose Quartz. And totally not even close to as brave as Rose's Pearl, who decided to be noble and just and strong and dangerous when she wasn't even supposed to be able to. She thinks this because she hides from the Authority and leads a luxurious life on her stolen ship.

But she has also been documenting the genocide of sapient organic races. She keeps records and artifacts from civilizations she knows she isn't going to be able to protect any more. (She is VERY demoralized after losing so many. She believes that probably nothing will stop the Authority now except getting its ass handed to it by a species with better tech and better morals. In this respect she reminds me of the lady in The Three Body Problem.) She is determined that someday, if the Authority doesn't kill everything that's not the Authority, these crimes will not be forgotten.

Melon also likes to steal Pearls every now and again but because they're programmed to love their mistresses they get sad and she lets them go. :(

...If I end up making Coral an actual character, I actually have some plans for her. Namely, she's a bit on the sadistic side, but in a very...almost childish way? Like a spoiled child playing with an extremely expensive doll, really, which is kind of what she views Baroque as--a fancy collector's item that she can dress up and such. Basically, a Psychopathic Womanchild of sorts.

And @cryptoThelematrix, Tektite took the opportunity to ollie outie of the party. She has decided that parties are Not Fun. But she and Tourmaline should totally meet up again! :D

and also in sad scenes Smoke can go through all Melon's careful documentation of genocide by the Diamond Authority, the videos and artifacts and ancient papers from lost races, and they just go on and on, her ship's full of the stuff

If you can deal with the fact that actually 90% of the story happens in Dimension 52 on a planet called Pennarion (remember "I miss Dimension 52"?--well there were lots of good reasons for that) because in sheer desperation I ended up using my WIP about What Ford Did On The Other Side of the Portal and Why He Didn't Actually Want to be Rescued Any More as background when I realized people were expecting me to give them a background story, you will probably love it. And since not all of the gates have been closed, you can probably come up with someone to bring in, also I would fucking love to have a Pacifica.

We will try to rebuild the Falls...and lots of other places that got broken. But we are currently trying to figure out lots of other things, like what the recently completely dis-possessed sperg who took all these people in because what happened to them was his fault and he feels bad about it is going to do with them all.

In other news, I just remembered that Smoke is bitty and am now hoping at some point she can end up riding on someone's shoulder or something XD
