also, Peridot was drawn in a promo wearing Percy's outfit, Pauline is wearing a blue diamond and teardrop marks on her scarf, and Pierre is a brute, like how Jasper does. cute.

I can't really explain why but after this episode I find myself shipping Ruby and Sapphire and Peridot, but not so much Garnet and Peridot. Possibly because I can imagine both of them internally giggling and d'awwing over Peri's awkward blushy flailing in the dance scene, possibly just because they're collectively The Smol Ones and I like putting matching sets together?? I don't know, but I really really hope we get to see Garnet and Peridot fuse at some point because I really want to see what the combination of the 3 of them looks like.
Yeah... but Ruby and Sapphire are canonically not conscious inside Garnet except in extreme stress, I think, noting how Sapphire said she 'disappeared' inside Garnet. Er, I can't remember her exact wording, but you know what I mean. They obviously remember being Garnet but they're not existing as individuals. ...OH, YOU MEAN UNFUSED, I'M AN IDIOT.
me too. when i see it, i usually end up assuming it is a stylistic thing in some way, that they only look tall to me 'cause of how different the artist's style is from steven universe's. 'cause i don't think i've seen many tall ruby and sapphire's in cartoonish styles.
Also, it's remarkable how despite everyone involved being members of a species that doesn't seem to experience attraction the way we do at all, Peridot has somehow managed to have romantic and/or sexual tension with all three Crystal Gems
I think I mean either fused or unfused? Well, no, I guess I do mean unfused. Because Garnet is a relationship as well as a person. I think that's why I don't ship her and Peri, because she's entirely self-sufficient and self-contained and like she told Jamie, "three's a crowd." But Ruby and Sapphire are two people who came together and decided to be a relationship, which means that they could very easily decide to be a different relationship if they wanted to. I don't think they'll want to, really, in the long term, but they sure as hell seemed like two people who wanted a threesome for... reasons other than cultural exchange... in this episode, or at least to me they did o_o
