Tfw you wake from your plague-induced slumber, go to see if you have any tasks to do, and find this:

[Description: a rack full of clean silverware, with a post it saying "<3 Wash hands before putting away. // Wash hands a lot."]

    Thanks, mom. :D

went to look up non-alcoholic cocktails. found buzzfeed article. one of the drinks was Thai iced tea???

that's not a cocktail, fuck you buzzfeed!

but then reading the linked recipe led to good advice on which Thai iced tea mix to buy on Amazon and now I am FUCKIN PUMPED TO MAKE MY OWN BUBBLE TEA

(I have tapioca pearls and have made them in other tea, but. I love that horrid bright orange color.)

it totally sounds like it should be a mixed drink haha i was actually surprised to find out it actually is just tea.

i guess i was expecting like, something along the lines of long island iced tea

It does get more complicated than most tea I make - the restaurant version has the mix, and often condensed milk, maybe sugar syrup, definitely sugar-soaked tapioca....

I wonder if there is an alcohol that would go well in it? I don't really drink, but cocktail recipes are so interesting! I love weirdass flavor combinations!

i didn't even know that thai iced tea and bubble tea were things. this is like a whole new strange but intriguing dimension of tea that i have learned of. tapioca you say...

let me tell you guys about our dog Piper, my brother found her in a shelter, she's a pit bull terrier, she will give you a high five or shake your hand, she hates bananas, she sometimes becomes randomly terrified of empty hallways, and she has a white splotch of fur in the area between her front legs which indicates where the best and softest place to scratch is. she is a beautiful beast, a balm to my poor sperg-riddled brain, and probably the best thing that exists. these are true facts about the piper beast.

i was listening to a song with the lyric "my heart is a ghost town" and misheard it as "my heart is a coat-stand"
and now i'm wondering if it is possible to make a coherent, sense-making analogy comparing someone's heart to a coat-stand
like, what would make someone's heart a coat-stand? do those concepts have any possible connection to each other?

i feel like a heart probably isnt rigid enough to be suitable for hanging coats on

People come in and hang their coat and hat there for a while while they rest their feet, but they always pick their coat and hat back up and leave back to the world outside.

yeah, that makes sense. like, nobody really stays there, nobody really takes a relationship with that person entirely seriously.

i feel like you could take a screencap of my previous post and @Wiwaxia 's together, make it into one of those 'there's two kinds of people' tumblr posts, and get a million notes. the juxtaposition is glorious.

Lazarae The tide pod of art

I have a character with a definite coat-stand heart. Lilura's a break-off of the same seed idea that made Venena, except instead of being picked up by the Org she got picked up by a baby goddess who keeps the entity bound and quiet

IF Lilura uses her magic to help people and maintains an open-door/open-couch policy for anyone who needs help. She's also one of those people that you just naturally open up to.

She's pretty much a corner witch (her door appears in alleyways if you do a thing) who takes care of the street kids, and she does care about helping them because she's been at the bottom. But they come and go like cats, and she hears all their stories. So she kind of has to... hold onto that care long enough to help them, because she can't lose that- it keeps her human. But she can't hold onto it forever because they're street kids and sometimes things get worse and they never come back, and sometimes they get better and never come back, and sometimes they die and never come back.

So she's a coat stand, always holding affection for these kids when they're around, but she has to give it up when they leave or she'll get overwhelmed. You ever seen a coat rack with WAY too many coats? My grandparents had one for the longest time, you couldn't find ANYTHING on it and it was always falling over. Completely useless as a coat rack, holding the outerwear of ages. So the kids take their coats when they leave, because she can't afford to worry about them forever.
