I think partially because BD might decide it would be too much of a hassle to replace Blue, plus killing a newly formed Pearl in her stead might be more traumatic.
She probably fled on her own, between our Pearls fleeing and the execution, maybe with the help of Yellow Pearl? (it is me i am shipper trash)
This way we get the execution, the Diamond Authority can keep face and We could theoretically run across Blue at any point
(Basically we are writing Blue out Soap Opera style: we have a strategy to bring her back if we want to and it's halfway believable even.)

 

Urgh, I should sleep. Assume that at least Head Gem and Citrine come with the rest no matter what - I REALLLY want them to form Iron Pyrite at least once before they get off-planet, even if it's just a big flashy distraction to help the Pearls flee notice :P

okay i'm back from school. yes, we were writing Blue out so as to have a possible back-in for her - and yes, also theorizing that BD might have her actually do things and wouldn't want her to just get crushed.

@Acey: do you want me to write Gray & Baroque out and to the others? I think enough time has passed for the poly pile that it would be believable for the crash and waking up and moving to have happened.


ALSO i am highly in favour of a super dramatic rescue mission and also Gold betrayal angst
and ALSO i think it would be awesome if Tektite figured out how to warp people between ships (since i don't think there's much of that canonically? at least not that we've seen) - secret rebel warpiness!!

IN THE MEANTIME
I've been looking at paso dobles on youtube and realized "aw shit right, the dance is kinda aggressive between the two parties sometimes" briefly contemplated switching to tango but found three performances with some AWESOME fusion dance potential.

which i like because it has a lot fo great little moments that seem like they could fit the shorter fusion dances and because the two have a great flirty vibe between them they seem to enjoy themselves!

which i think i actully prefer and not just because her outfit looks like she IS a Pearl. It has these really great intimate little poses inbetween.

and lastly this very intense performance that is just jawdropping and would work as one entire fusion dance even if it seems a bit more spades-y
