I'm amazed that an entire people have made a habit of this in another world, and it's even still considered honest.

No-one expects it coming from me. The ones who expect me to lie are always shocked to find I've told the truth, and the ones expecting truth are always baffled at the deception- they usually think I was lying at the start when I told them I never lie. They get so angry when they find the truth in it! -laughs-

I can honestly say that I would NEVER say I'd never been satisfied.

 

And I can honestly say that I wasn't the only one responsible for Hamiltion's unsatisfied state. It was just a... thing with him.

Besides, it's not like he didn't have orgasms or anything. I can verify for the both of you that he had them - and with his equipment, he couldn't just fake them, either. The dissatisfaction he was talking about when deeper than that. It was about everything: politics, love, sex, legacy, justice... He never felt like he had enough, had done enough, no matter how hard he tried.

His tale and mine have far too many points in common. What happens in Amber has echoes in Shadow, yes, but this world is far enough away that it should have only fragments. Unless... *more to himself than them* none of us ever spent as long in one world as I, and we too cast our own Shadows on other worlds.

In my experience coincidence is not a Thing that Exists. It near always means someone's screwing with you, Those Above or Depths below.
