I just assumed she'd bonk into Bel in the corridor? But maybe Bel could come sit down by Twitch to catch up with her, and Lu would be stuck in Awkward Town?

unrelated but in the space navy AU i want erskin to see a picture of bel from the same age as the regular universe and like

spend a solid five minutes giggle-cooing over his lil baby commander face

also wow ok the thought of smol regular universe (RU?) bel encountering AU captain aspera is very appealing. i think RU erskin bumping into older commander kadros would just be like 'oh well that figures', if also somewhat dismayed at how he's never ever going to catch up to bel's size ever. captain aspera would be severely delighted to be taller than any version of bel, and insist on picking him up. like he could pick up large size bel anyway but he wouldn't dangle and that is the point of the exercise.

 

serious question what would smol bel think of the sunslammer and erskin's captaincy

like 'wow i would have expected him to be more of a disaster' or 'wow i knew he was capable of getting his shit together' or 'wow what the fuck is up with all these gardens'

edit: i think RU erskin is headed towards more of a blockade runner or courier or smuggler space captain lifestyle? AU erskin got fixated on landscaping in a way RU erskin isn't likely to.

 

we're waiting on aud, i think, she's been feeling crummy the last day or two. i guess we could go back and play with werewolves?

 

hmmm maybe they get a deer by chasing it into the lake, then the locals show up to see if they can intimidate our heroes out of a meal? and bel and erskin either make friends or shrug it off.

 

one thing i was thinking we could try out, though it might prove more frustrating than interesting, is erskin getting a lot simpler directly around the full moon, or at least wanting to be, and being more exasperated than usual when bel wants him to think deeply about things and explain himself and stuff. i was going to say 'maybe bel would be scared at how this guy he likes has been reduced to totally an animal' but actually it seems more likely if on the day of the full moon it turned out erskin was in no shape to have any conversations that weren't about playing or eating, he'd probably just get bored and see if he can operate his kindle with his nose. philosophical freakout averted.

also the idea of a big woof lying there delicately swiping pages around with his nose is really charming to me btw. he could make the text a lot bigger and prop it up against the side of the tent. or just put an audio book on and listen while he went and gnawed a bone. also i think no matter how concussed, erskin would still want to pull on his tail and ears for attention.

also i'm having deja vu pretty bad right now, have we discussed this before?

 

so considering how much dogs and humans and wolves all enjoy 'run around in the woods on a Quest' type activities, i think even if bel and erskin spend the whole night failing at deer they'd still have a lot of fun.
