Eh, personally I think Charles def was pale for Erik when they first met, but it turned flush pretty quick. Erik would not consent to be papped by anyone if he had any choice in the matter XD (I am definitely of the opinion that shipping is not as srs bizness as some people make it out to be, so everyone is fine to ship whatever they ship so long as I am, too XD) It still bothers me that in two movies Raven's the only woman with an action part and isn't like, painted a total villain like Emma Frost or fridged randomly between films like Angel. But it's a small botherment, and FBI lady looks to be coming back in Apocalypse, which would be good. But yes those movies are amazing and I can't wait for the next one. (When is Memorial Day, anyway? I've only seen that put as the date on the trailers on youtube, and being in the UK I have no freaking clue when that would be.) ( Spoiler: potientally if you don't know of any other timelines but the films Also I really really want Nightcrawler to be Raven's kid in this continuity as well. Really really really XD )
True, Angel being fridged (and Darwin while we're at it, bring him back plz) bothered me too. The thing is there's usually no superheroine who gets Raven's part. IS IT COMING OUT ON MEMORIAL DAY?! That's uh . Summer sometime. >.>; You should look it up. Spoiler Hee I didn't know that but it's cool, my former teacher's spoiled most of the continuity of the original books at my request anyway.
exactly and not only that, he shouldn't have died from that!! in the comics he once evolved into a fucking death god so that he didn't die his power was literally to survive anything so what the fuck
memorial day is may 30th and OH MAN AM I EXCITE FOR APOCALYPSE. i'm glad we get more evan peters as quicksilver too because i liked aaron - taylor johnson in Ultron but i really see quicksilver as more with a devil may care attitude and the jokestery but on guard version in DoFP was more like that than the edgy Ultron version. plus Moira Mactaggert is back and knowing her and Xavier's relationship in the comics i'm interested to see where they go with that.
oh, on another topic, has anyone else ever wondered why they didn't make bruce banner a mutant to cover the whole "i somehow survived the huge amounts of gamma radiation pumped into me" thing instead of trying to come up with a ton of elaborate backstories that not many marvel writers agree on or doing the "just don't ever explore that" thing they do now? i mean considering how they like to play with alternate universes and realities a lot it's probably true somewhere in a version of canon, i've just never seen any other series writers for marvel try it out. thoughts?
while I don't think Ultron Pietro really fit Pietro's character, I did like Ultron Pietro. he was cute. and I cried a lot when he died.
Yeah, same! I remember I used to wonder if Clint Barton wasn't a mutant too, what with the perfect aim and all, but since Matt Fraction's run I definitely like him better as an ordinary extraordinary trash baby cinnamon roll XDD (Also who else is SO FRUSTRATED that there will never be grandad!Erik with grandkids Pietro and Wanda in either movie continuum? I mean I understand why and I really like Evan Peters!Quicksilver a lot - he is such a dork, it's adorable - but some part of me is sad that will never be a thing.)
oh yeah, same. i think it was really wanda's presence that made him even more closed off than i'm used to with his character, but it wouldn't've been the same without her. it was overall a really great portrayal of the dynamic those two would have had if they'd grown up together in the situation they did. i think they're saving the scarlet witch for shock factor later in the xmen movieverse which bums me out because that's what she's usually used for and i wanted more wanda as a character like in ultron and less as a plot device. WANDA MAXIMOFF DESERVES BETTER 2k16.
yeah, it was a good portrayal of that. and I liked it a lot! SHE DOES THOUGH. I want to see her as a character, not a plot device!!
speaking of different casting in different movies, i wish they'd kept tim pocock for cyclops instead of casting tye sheridan. i know they're not super keen on having blatant connections to origins: wolverine, but when i saw pocock (for the 3ish minutes of screen time he had, if that) i thought "YES, this is cyclops. i want to see more of this cyclops" and i'm kind of sad they've had to switch again. hopefully i'll be wrong and sheridan will be a great cyclops, we'll see. i just have lots of feelings about scott summers, okay?
Hello, this is basically why I care about X-Men again. Well, that and the time-travel plot in DoFP, that was pretty cool.
not necessarily relevant to thread but i went to half price books today to trade in some books with my mom and found another exiles issue! that makes 28/100 (not necessarily issues 1-28, just 28 random ones) and i haven't gotten a new one in ages so i'm super happy. i also found two babylon 5 comics in my comic box and my first reader which i had completely forgotten i had. weird. anyways, i just wanted to share.
(hi I just watched Xmen FIrst class cause it was on and goddammit i am so mad at magneto cmon can you stop being angsty also was the coin skull really necessary)
I thoiight it was awesome and symbolic, but also horrifying. (I am not a gorey movie person, this came a bit to close to that for comfort)
Okay so I watched Xmen and I was thinking of wolverine and Rogue as dad-daughter dynamic but then the end sacrifice thing happened and now I can't decide if romantic or fatherly love. They are just so CUTE either way. Ohmygosh stoppit you two. C:}
